Re: the problem with the legend....
I believe Insomniac actually tried with the series. Creating a Hero you could get to love, had an attitude, and did what he had to do. Not because of a silly prophecy but because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I really did not like how they made Spyro look dumb and weak in TLOS. In the classics he had an edge. An attitude that made him rebellious. The TLOS series is ok but to me it feels like Sierra/Activision didn't try. They just want money. Insomniac did it to get into the gamimg world. Pfft... So TLOS had better graphics. The classics are a better game overall.
Another company needs to try with Spyro. Then thats when we get our good game.

Re: the problem with the legend....
I like them all. Older more than the newer, but I still like them all. Please
inform me of a dragon game that could even dare to be as awesome as
Spyro games. Actually, tell me about a dragon game, other then Spyro,
that is even worth playing.

I can only think of "How to Train your Dragon" for consoles. Etranges Libellules (DOTD developers) supposedly made it. I've never played it, but from what I saw, it's in the "worth playing" category.
Yo, Spyro

Re: the problem with the legend....
Personally I prefer the LOS series more. I agree that, sure, there are a few problems with it, but there are many positives to it though.
For example, adding Cynder as a secondary character in DOTD was a great idea (to me anyways) because it adds a new dimension to the gameplay, making things a little more interesting.
As for the graphics and music: I like both very much. I think that the new design for Spyro makes him look more serious, which ties into the seriousness of the plot in this series (which is a very good thing because I don't think anyone wants a cheezy looking Spyro in a really serious scene). Sparx doesn't look half bad as far as graphics. But, he's not really all that great personality-wise (he can be a jerk sometimes yes), but he's more or less meant as sort of a comedy relief when things get too serious (which is bad because it takes away from the plot's meaning).
Anyways, once you think about it, the LOS series isn't too bad if you get over the kinks in it. I personally give it an 8.8 out of 10.

Re: the problem with the legend....
One thing I didn't really like was Wayne Brady's voice acting. Why couldn't they keep Billy West or David Spade as Sparx?
DOTD sometimes froze the Wii. Then again, the disc was scratched because I got it used.
