Did you consider writing the gaming company? They're the ones who made the decision to go in a different direction. And if we knew what that direction was we'd share it with you. Again sorry for the disappointment. Wish we had more encouraging news for you."
noooooooo theres no more spyro games
(want proof, goto google search and put 'spyro fansite' it should be the first one there... scroll down, and theres the horrible note :'(You misunderstood the quote, Metal. They are taking the Spyro franchise in a different direction, meaning there are going to be more Spyro games, but they might be different than the previous ones.
Yes they won't stop creating spyro games. It has been approved by the creators self right? I forgot who it said, but I heard somewhere, and everyone knows they won't stop producing games of spyro. it won't be like the "TLOS" trilogy, but it will have the same timeline. As in, Ignitus is the new chronicler. Terrador will be the new head of the guardians. (So I've heard.)

What do these names have in common?:
Insomniac
Sony Computer Entertainment America
Universal Studios
Krome
Vivendi
all of the old GBA developers for Spyro
They are all companies that helped make Spyro game but have gone on to other game franchises. Who's to say that Activision wont sell it off to another company that has wishful thinking for Spyro?

Re: Legend of Spyro film has been cancelled
Minesweeper would make a great movie. There's no canon to screw up. (College Humor, please make a full-length feature)
I'm having a hard time believing a game could be made into a movie that is worse than Super Mario Bros. Personally, I liked that movie because it was so bad it was funny.

Re: Legend of Spyro film has been cancelled
What I am curious about is why is this topic still even active. The OFFICIAL film is dead.... oh wait... it never even made into production so it is kinda hard to say it died since it never really got past the writing stage. The main reason why the film failed to get made is because it was basically the first game in trilogy redone in movie form. The plotline would have been had to stay pretty much the same as the game on which it was to be based.
The only way to do a Spyro film is to do one that features a brand new storyline that moves Spyro beyond his gaming roots and into new territory while still remaining true to his origins. The problem up to now is the franchise has not been taken seriously nor has any of the various owners or developers over the years been able to deliver a Spyro storyline that has the perfect balance between character development and a powerful epic story that is actually strong enough to be called an actual epic. The Legend games weren't epic... I am sorry everyone but the truth hurts. The Legend games were only epic in their scope but the story was rushed and weak. I don't blame Chris Wilson or Mike Graham for that but I will blame Sierra for what they did. Sierra are ones who screwed up the Legend trilogy due to the way they funded and interfered throughout all the many phases of production on each game in trilogy. They didn't give Chris, Mike or Krome enough time or funding to do trilogy like they wanted to do it. Why do you think Chris left when he did? He left because he got fed up with dealing with Sierra.
By the way... for everyone who has played A Hero's Tale & Shadow Legacy notice the similarities between the Legend trilogy storyline and storyline of A Hero's Tale and Shadow Legacy. That is not coincidental because in truth the Legend games are basically a updated redo of A Hero's Tale and Shadow Legacy but without the original universe storyline. Instead it was a new backstory.

???
I guess if you changed the appearance, changed the edginess, changed the villains and minions, changed the setting, changed the name, and changed everything else, I guess you could see the similarities.
I doubt it.

That is why I said it was redo of those original universe games. The similarities are quite numerous. The only difference are those you stated but the basic story structure is identical. Then again, it shouldn't be a surprise considering that Chris Wilson and Mike Graham got their start in Spyro: Shadow Legacy.

I don't see any real resemblance that supports that claim. Unless you can get a writer or LoS creator's quote that explains their ideas for the script to be represented by other Spyro games, I can't take that claim seriously. It's like saying something is "Inpired by a true story." In reality, everything is inspired by a true story.

Chris Wilson didn't leave, jamieque. He was reassigned to the Crash franchise by Activision. Do your research please.
