Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Hey guys! Lol long time no see, how is everyone here?
haha, I guess I wanted to post this up here so the oldest Spyroforum fans can come together here and well, just simply chat about how the forum has been rolling, and a few details about how the fan base has moved the fandom ideas about. Hehe I'm not sure how many people here are at least as experienced in this fandom as I am (Lol, no narcissism intended), but i truly desire to find out!
I guess newbies could come into this too, but here is a large question:
What is the canon of Spyro (TLoS Spyro), and what has become the more solid fannon ideas in the series as well?

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
SXC....Is one of the largest and growing fanbase.
People like to rage about the originals vs TLOS...And were turning into ghost town

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
lol, that was pretty straight-to-the-point, but I guess it's true indeed. I truly wonder what LoS fans have truly against the classic Spyro fans, I mean i really don't have much against the old spyro, 'cept for the point that I don't like the old Spyro's attitude. What i do have a problem against are those old fans that bash the new series.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
About what's canon and what's not, huh...
It's hard to actually say that both can't be canon at the same time though. I remember some member posting a year ago an entire Spyro timeline, which actually made sense and although bits of it were fanmade (to make sense for continuity), the fact remains that the Legend series' timeline was before the original series. It still has a chance to make sense.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Yeah, I saw that thing. Lol it made sense to a certain point.
Lol, there isn't much of anything that is juicy that's considered canon, is there?

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
The fanbase is largely "Spyro ♥ Cynder" but there are still other people
around. I still see "Spyro ♥ Elora," "Hunter ♥ Bianca" and others.
The General Chat section is getting more of a variety of tiopics instead of
only having music, movie, and game topics.
I still check the forum every day like usual.
The mods like to disappear, with the occasional appearance.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
I enjoyed both versions for what they were, personally I would love to see some kind of online gaming environment that allow large exploration plus puzzle solving while keeping a solid storyline intact with many characters, somehow combining the best of both the originals and LoS.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
I've had a very similar thought in my head like RDX has. Whoever is [or
should be] making the next Spyro game should take the best of the old
series and new series and combine them. And there needs to be massive
environments.

Well that's just the only idea I can think of that might be pulled off in some kind of successive manner.

Well most likely that concept will stick around, not quite sure if they will keep it on a high/moderate level or downgrade it, but I suspect they'll keep it around.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Eragon is a nice example. Magic was mixed in along side Saphira the
dragon. I like watching the movie to see Saphira, Eragon, and their ally,
but the magic part gets on my nerves.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Sorry for the not putting a 'both' in that... I honestly goofed up when i was doing that.
As for what RDX originally said; i kinda agree with that. A game in which you could combine the best out of both would be awesome. This would also be a difficult task though.
I mean, I really don't know how it is now, but there use to be a hardcore wank war when the last LoS came out in between Legend and Classic Spyro fans. It was a huge mess, and in a way the PoS fans separated themselves from classic fans.
In fact... I don't see much LoS fans in the fandom anymore... I mean like the hardcore ones (lol, am i really the only SxC crazed LoS fan still out there?). Where did they go?

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Oh they're still drifting around. I personally didn't have any issues with the pairing...I actually liked it until most of the obsessed fans went overboard on it. With a game like this you need a much more wide open world and story in my mind...something that can go MORE then one direction while keeping gamers enthralled in an enticing plot/desire to accomplish some kind of 100% mark.
It would certainly be difficult to accomplish...but they certainly have plenty of time to figure out what to do with this franchise now. Heck for all we know they will reboot the series all over again, but I really see them sticking with what is most fresh in gamers minds, and pandering to the newest generation of fans.
