Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Yeah, I believe that if they're going to continue anything, it's TLoS. I mean It's got plenty of potential... but true... the freaks did kinda over-do the pairing and the entire series... Maybe that's why there are so many wank wars.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Quite possible. In the hands of a good write the pairing is actually very good, but that's pretty rare nowadays. Anyways I'm still looking for something that is much more open play instead of linear development.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Yeah, but i mean... how can anyone create an open game off a series that has always been extremely plot-based?

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Well depending which way you go...I can use Star Trek online for example. The story is pretty simple, the galaxy is in the middle of a war that forces the player into situations that can have alternate outcomes. Now I'm not saying that Spyro would work well as an online game, that would be really hard to pull off, but it's not impossible.
I would give the chance for every supposed player of this game to design and or use a dragon of their own, then let them be released into this world that is as we can just pretend is based upon the LoS series. First the game has to be sandbox like the first series by Insomniac, allowing the player to develop at their own pace and reach other continents or levels through accomplishments and such.
That may or may not work though since obviously everyone wants a chance to play as Spyro...but you can still work them into a story very easily. I mean heck, if the game is called Spyro's kingdom you could very well just be a dragon interacting in a world that is ruled and or heavily influenced by an older Spyro.
Obviously you can think of thousands of possibilities, but it is certainly not impossible, especially with some of the plot potential I've seen out there.

Yeah, I guess you're right. But you did come across a good point.
I mean... I want to play as Spyro, most definatly.
Hmm... could something be done alike to Red Dead Redemption?

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Well... In Red Dead Redemption the single player game is based of a main character named John Marston. Everything in the single player game is all about him, and his doings in this fictional Western environment. The multiplayer is a lot more freestyle. You can create your own character and can go about in the same world as John did, but with less of a general objective.

Yeah I suppose I could see something like that...I'll have to go try the game to get a feel for it.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Hey. I just discovered this topic now. Nice to see you shade and everyone else.
Spyro X Cynder is obviously fannon. The only thing which could be close to making it cannon would be Cynder's out of the blue "I love you" at the end of DOTD which could mean multiple things.
Also im suprised that after nearly 5 years, the LOS vs Originals war is still strong. I really should make a video about it on my youtube account.

Well that would certainly depend where you go, don't know if it's as strong now as it was then, but I can't go into the fanfiction section without it being completely overrun by 14 year olds that believe they are professional writers with this pairing and screwed it over immensely. I loved the pairing when everyone was still writing all over Spyro and Ember, that made it something nobody had ever tried and gave great opportunity to develop character.
Either way, I'm sure the new developers will stick with what is more popular at this time.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
I wonder if a commemorative coin for Spyro would sell good. The head side would have original Spyro and banner, while the tails side would have the LOS logos and likeness. And then we'll flip it 100 times to see which side gets flipped more. And the developers will use that to determine the fate of Spyro.
Wake me up... when September ends is here...

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Lol! I think we could work thing out that waym, most defiantly. xD
But indeed, Ratchet is right about the two things he pointed out. I mean SxC is partially canon, but it can't be fully declared fannon due to what happened at the end of the game. I guess it's all up to interpretation.
As for the TLoS vrs Classic wanking, well I think that it's partially more 'civilized' now. I mean I remember that there was a point where all you saw was something like this:
"NEW SPYRO IS LIKE SO CUTE AND CYNDER IS LIKE CUTE AND A BLACK DRAGONESS AND COOL AND WE ALL HAIL CYNDER BECAUSE SHE IS DA BEST EVA AND NO ONE CAN CHALLENGE CYNDER AND CYNDER CYNDER (Notice how we kinda drift off the actual series, and become ones with the Cynder-tards)."
We also saw something like this as well:
"THE NEW SPYRO SUKS BECUZ IT'S LIKE NO COOL AND THE OLD SPYRO IS DA COOL ONE CUZ HE PIMP AND THE NEW SPYRO IS JUST A CRYBABY AND WELL I HATE HIM!"
We also got a little of this:
"I HATE THE NEW SPYRO BUT CYNDER IS SO CUTE AND BEAUTIFUL AND MY OC SO PAIRS UP WITH HER AND ALL THAT GOES WITH HER! I MEAN I DREAM WITH CYNDER SO SHE IS MY DESTINY AND FATE 4EVA! (Aka: the most classic Cynder-tard)."
I mean now things have calmed down a little, and only the most loyal fans stay (I'm not saying we still have some problematic people, but oh well).
You know what we should do, and like seriously?
We should totally start a thread here that we can all work on to start developing a more structured and more "all around" fannon. I mean a lot of other fandoms have done this, and it kinda brings the entire fan base together.
IDK, maybe we should totally start this little thing where we make a set of questions about the series and have people answer them in order to get to a mid point for what is known as 'fannon.'
We would obviously have to set up two different ones for Classic and TLoS though.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
I don't really see the point in the "war" between the two series. If you don't like one or the other, no one's making you play it haha. Personally I like both series and hope they continue to innovate in the future while keeping the core platforming genre.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
I guess.. I judge it on how fun game actually were.. TLOS was not fun. Classic was. I don't give a *bleep* who the characters are or what they look like.

Re: Veteran Spyroforumers unite!
Lol, let's not start wanking here. We're all seeking a solution here, not starting a problem.
As for the different opinions, i mean I am thinking that we can do something like this in order to set out the fans ideas and all. I'm not really saying we have to agree to everything everyone says.
