Your history with Spyro
Basicly talk about what got you into the game and through out your life with the games.
For me.
When I was like, 2-3ish, My uncle gave me a PS1 and my 1st game I played, easy guess, was Spyro. Most of my early childhood was basicly the 1st three Spyro games (And Tomb Raider but that not for this site) and then I stop playing the series cause we moved to a different house and lost my games.. Later on in 2008ish, I manage to get them back (via ebay, a course) and played them once again. In 2009 is when I learn about 4th and 5th ones but never really gotten them then. As well in 2009 is when I got 1st LoS game.
Played it and liked it a lot and soon got the others, last year after playing LoS series I went to get the 4th game and played it and didn't really like it too much... As of right now, I like to look Spyro stories and pictures once in awhile on deviantart. I'm a Spyro fan and forever will be no matter what and I don't care if any Spyro game isn't good, it's still Spyro and better then Spyro being buried like other games out there.

Re: Your history with Spyro
I also got a PS1 at a young age but my first game was Rayman, I latter got Spyro at the shop as my second game. I used to love playing it especially when my mum and her (ex) boyfriend would have really bad arguments, it made me feel less scared. I learnt about Spyro 2 in Reception (Kindergarten for you yanks) when one of my friends was showing it off I was like "OMGDOWANT" so I begged for it tirelessly until it was finally mine. Then my stepbrother got Spyro 3 and never let me play it because he was a big meanie (now he has a daughter haha) so my mum had to bye me that as well. The rest is pretty normal I bought the new ones as they came out. I have never given away those original games so I still have my copy of Spyro the Dragon from years ago.
Currently I own:
Spyro the Dragon
Spyro 2 Gateway to Glimmer
Spyro Year of the Dragon
Spyro Season of Ice
Spyro Season of Flame
Spyro Enter the Dragonfly
Spyro Adventure
The legend of Spyro a New Beginning
I also used to have AHT but I sold it to my friend.

Re: Your history with Spyro
@Jusey
If your age really is 20, you were about 7 when Spyro 1 came out.
Anyway, I was maybe 6 years old when I played a Spyro 1 demo at some computer store. It was only for a few minutes, but it was awesome. At that same store on that same day my dad got me Jazz Jackrabbit 1, which was in the clearance bin. I loved that game. I had not played any Spyro game since until second grade. My school had one of those wrapping paper sale/fundraiser things (I was completely unaware that I had participated), and I won the grand prize: a PS1 (I had no idea what it was). I had Croc, Gran Turismo, and PS1 Demo disc vol. 9, which had Medieval, Metal Gear Solid, and Spyro the Dragon. I was so happy when I saw that, and as a little kid, I thought it was the full game. For my birthday, I got Spyro 2, and I played it a lot. On an extended family trip, I brought my Playstation and played it with my cousin on the way down. He beat Crush, and ever since, the line "Bring it on, Shorty" has been a code word between us. A few weeks afterwards, I accidentally overwrote my save data, and it was pretty traumatizing (I look back and laugh). I got the Greatest Hits version of Spyro 3 in 2001, (and I got Jazz Jackrabbit 2. I remember having to go to the Principal's office after pretending a large woodchip was the LFG, Jazz's gun.)
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

Re: Your history with Spyro
Eh.... Sometime in the early 00's when i was about 6 or 7, My parents bought me a PS1 and a few weeks later, i Got Spyro 1 to play. I played it for a while but with competitors like Crash Bandicoot etc, I quickly lost interest and only returned to replay fun parts.
Probably a few years later, I Got Spyro 2 RR and played it up to fracture Hills a number of times.. then got angry with it and kept leaving it for another day. I eventually in the meantime got Spyro 3: YotD and played it through to the end. Then I returned back to Spyro 2 and finally completed it.
About 4-5 years passed with me occasionally replaying the first 3 through again. Then I went on Holidays and won The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning in a Luck Driven Machine in a games room at a hotel. I played up to the Raft part on the Earth Level and then gave up again. Over time, I got A Hero's Tail and Enter the Dragonfly and gave up both of those in the first level due to the horrible boredom.
Last year for my birthday, I got TLoS: DotD and have played it up to the Dam level with an exchange student. I got up to destroying the Dark Heart of the Destroyer and haven't continued on since... I like co-op better and basically.. I haven't got any friends interested in Spyro enough to play it (I know... I'm Lazy =S)

Re: Your history with Spyro
Actually I'm turning 17 this month, I type in 1990 all the time on sites. I never knew why either, I guess I did it once and got into it as a habit.

Re: Your history with Spyro
I have a big paragraph talking about my history of Spyro somewhere here
on this forum [in this section]. I'll just give you one sentence instead.
Spyro was my brother and friend when I was growing up, since I had little
to no friends when I was younger.

Re: Your history with Spyro
I got the Spyro: Year of the Dragon when I was five. It was a gift, for being good at school that day xD (I had a bad habit of crying all day. Separation problems.)
I played it, and it was freakin' awesome! I remember messing around at the beginning and pressing the circle button, and then freaking out and having my mom and dad come in to see that I was breathing fire! I thought that was sooo cool. Spyro influenced a lot in my life, considering I got into art mostly because I always wanted to draw him, (I have TONS of little Spyro drawings from when I was little xD I've gotten a lot better ^^;) and the fact that I LOVE DRAGONS.
Anyways, back then I didn't realize you had to collect everything so I basically just messed around and tried to get through the game. Of course now I collect everything when I play through them. After Year of the Dragon, I got Ripto's Rage and then the first game. And I love them all! I think the first one is my favorite though :3

Re: Your history with Spyro
When I was about 6, my friend constantly talked about Spyro. When I finally saw the game, I didn't think much of it, but my brother didn't get to play the game so he insisted that we buy it. When I started playing it, I became hooked. Everything about it just... Worked. Soon after, I got Spyro 1, followed by Spyro 2, 4, a Hero's Tail, TLoS and the Eternal night, which I never played. All the games that were released after 3 were just shocking. A few years ago, I started to try and finish Spyro 3. I was successful.
I started doing a Let's Play of Spyro 3, recently. It's really good to play it again.

Re: Your history with Spyro
I got Spyro the Dragon and Spyro Ripto's Rage when they came out but in 2000 I grew bored with them and forgot I even had them. 10 years later I had a dream about a place that seemed weird but somehow familiar. I realized it was from Spyro the Dragon and played through both games and I have purchased almost every spyro game (I still need year of the dragon) and I've been a spyro fan ever since and wish to own as much spyro merchandise as I can (except Skylanders).
