Re: What would you like to see in future games?

My Spyro: Elements of Kaos topic demonstrates my idea of a good evolution for the series pretty well. Rather than eschew the original play style completely, they should`ve developed it. Combat and puzzle-solving make for a pretty good combo in platformer games, especially if you can combine the two together at certain points.

Ice breath might be a cool power for Spyro (especially since even IG showed Spyro using ice power at least twice in the series), maybe even Lightning breath at a stretch, but they shouldn`t center the gameplay around new breath types. Personally, I think adding a Ratchet & Clank touch to the gameplay would help develop the series. Also, involving the other heroes more would help a lot. I consider the A-Team in the original series to consist of:

Spyro
Sparx
Hunter
Bianca
The Professor
Elora
Sheila
Sgt. Byrd
Bentley
Agent 9

Plus, Moneybags deserves the status of recurring character. I feel like those 11 characters form the series` main cast, to be honest.

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

I'd like some of the ol' characters like Bianca from Spyro 3 back, after Spyro 3 she was only in EtD and other gameboy games  sad And also make one more PS1 Spyro game....

The breath abilities used in ETD were really gay cause they were all the same
maybe differences and ammo like in ratchet and clank
but i still like the idea of powerups that run out of time

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

The next spyro game should have tons more levels and worlds to explore like in the drakengard games where the storyline proceeded as chapters and verses. Also, spyro should keep all his breath abilities because having just fire breath and maybe one more would get old very quickly and would feel sort of awkward if he possesses one or two of his four breaths. Also, they should consider more melee-type attacks, such as punching with his front legs, kicking with his back legs, wing-bashing, tail-whipping, horn-screwing, or even biting attacks, in which many different combos can be formed. OR, how about even a rolling attack where he rolls up into a ball and hurls towards his foes like a spiked wreacking ball.

Yeah, I want Spyro games to go back to the original trilogy. With Spyro looking as cute as he used to, and just fire and the occasional ice breath. ^^

Unfortunately, I think what you are suggesting would make control far too complex to be playable. sad I do like the "spiked wrecking ball" idea though. (Sonic fan side showing :-P ).

What I do think about the future is that there should be games similar to
A.Sonic Adventure 2 or
B.Shadow the Hedgehog

In both cases, gameplay would be an improved version of ANB's gameplay (less repetitive, with more locations to play in and some puzzle challenges).

For option A, it would have two separate storylines (one "heroic" for Spyro as he fights off the Dark Master's newest attack and one "dark" for Cynder as she looks for clues about what happened to her). The storylines would cross over and eventually come together in a final story with both dragons working together to defeat a final foe.

For option B, you would have Cynder playing alone as the main character and Spyro, Sparx, Ignitus, etc. as secondaries. As she searches for clues to her past, you get to choose paths she takes to find out what exactly she is: a heroic path alongside Spyro, a neutral path where she goes off on her own or a dark path where she returns to the Dark Master's armies.

In both cases, Spyro substitutes for Sonic (obvious) and Cynder for Shadow (which is actually a pretty good substitution because both were used by a greater malevolent power). One of the good things about Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog was the storyline, and with a little work an excellent game could be made which parallels Sonic Adventure 2 or Shadow the Hedgehog.

Some may not know this but I have a list of ideas posted on a forum on gamespot. It's a bit sad though that it died out but I'm still checking. Go on and take a look. I'm Jerko750 on gamespot by the way.

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

The rolling attack seems reasonable but what about the rolling sideways from Spyro 1? Besides, Fighting genes bore me. If the professor made this model that attach's to Spyro wings that let him fly... What else should be equipped? I perfer some grapple cable so you can swing around quickly and carry items. Nothing heavy though.

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

well they unfortunately are focussing on Ratchet and Clank right now, so Spyro will just have to manage with what he has now.

Don't give up hope though! Vivendi made Heroes Tail, so they can't be all bad! wink

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

If you bought it, then you'd probabbly beat it once, then lay it to rest for the rest of it's days. My tip to you would be to buy it just so you can brag that you have all the Spyro games, play it once, then only play it again if nessacary! yikes

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

well ETD's loading times are pretty crap, spyro is pretty slow, there are only a few levels, ripto is back, there is only one home world, there are breaths but they hardly do anything, most of the minigames suck, the boss fight sucked.
Apart from that it is just like the original 3, and thats why i liked it.
But after you've played it once, you'll get bored with it.

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

I'm interested in seeing Spyro grow up.  I'd also like faster loading times, a longer, more challenging game, less of that constant fighting, and more puzzles and areas to explore.

Re: What would you like to see in future games?

I agree, If anyone made a one like insomniac that was harder, had bigger levels and more puzzles, then i'd be happy with it.
The insomniac ones you could just sprint through the level ><, the only thing stopping you from beating the game in 30 monutes is how you have to get a sertan amount of eggs to open something.

ME!!!OH ME!!!

Besides that, I'd love to see maybe a party type option.
Picture this.  Hunter, Spyro, Cynder, and Ember on a team, chosen before a level starts. During the same level, being able to play as any of them, with each character having different abilities.  The other four are still on-screen, but they are acting as computer players following the leader.  Besides that, it sets up for a multiplayer mode.

That would so rock!!!
