Re: If you owned Spyro

If I owned spyro, I'd make a game that follows on from YotD. I'd try to stay true to the spirit and formula of the originals while adding in my little tweaks to improve it. It would be slightly darker.
I'd finish the game with an epic boss fight that culminates in spyro making a heroic sacrifice that finishes the series.

It would be as much for the people who grew up with the originals as for current day young children and hopefully it would end the series on a high note.

That's what I would do. The original ones a so much better and original than TLOS.

Dawn of the Dragon should have had Xbox LIVE parties. You know ... if
one of your real-life friends couldn't play it with you, you can just invite an
Xbox LIVE friend to come and play the game. Heheh, I'd really like that.

Re: If you owned Spyro

Spending my time, eating, sleeping and breathing videogames(No, not really

If I could have it my way(No, not burgers) I would start it in a world where Spyro has been absent(Much like our own.) from the dragon realms. Unfortunately the dragon worlds have begun to deteriorate from an unknown cause. I'm hoping to use this to explore the original dragon world but with a twists for veterans. Each world will start off dim, destroyed and a bit unrecognizable but that will be the fun. The more (Orbs? Gems or maybe eggs you collect?) will start to bring life bit by bit in each world and will sometimes give you access to parts of the homeworlds that was unreachable. This will make gem collecting or playing minigames more of a purpose of rebuilding the dragon world.

The story I hope will be entertaining for children and also longtime fans. It will be understandable with a few twists that should please everyone. I want to involve chacracters like Hunter and Bianca but U especially want to involve Elora more.

Gameplay will be exactly like the classics. Exploring your world to discover hidden gems or challenges and completing the level by helping dragons(and probably some other inhabitants of the worlds. I love the monks from collosus XD) also powerups will be included. Maybe making something as crazy as the super charge in tree tops.

Also since they are in the dragon world playing in past levels that will be a bit changed and modified from what's been happening recently and also new portals and areas will be available in the hub worlds since I believe the dragons would continue advancing their world before the world began to fall apart.

Baddies and boss batlles are something I have trouble with. I'd love to bring the old bosses back and tweak them. I'd like to make it like the classic battles where you Hirt them three times but instead of dying they grow in size and power and begin a giant boss battle which takes the old and mixes it with the new.

I know not everyone will like my ideas and it's just what I would do with Spyro. I am studying to become a game developer and I hope to one day do this project. Maybe in a few years you might see this game. If you liked my ideas thank you! And if you'd like to know more ideas I'd have! I am happy to oblige!

Re: If you owned Spyro

If I owned both Spyro and Jazz Jackrabbit, I'd do something similar to Shiruba's idea.  It would be like Inception, where Spyro (now hundreds of years old) messes with Jazz's dreams and makes him repair the original Spyro games.  It's pretty much a darker version of the Spyro the Dragon trilogy with my other favorite character playable instead of Spyro.  All that would be one game, and then there'd be a proper sequel to TLOS.

Re: If you owned Spyro

Nice your a Jazz the jackrabbit fan! XD Remakes are being done and succesfully too. I believe it's time for done of these games we loved to come back. Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat I mean even Rayman is having a remake. Classic games can definetly compete with new games they just need revamping. Mario has stood the test of time. I believe every game can have a comeback and I do believe your idea is fantastic JazzJackRabbit. Definetly better then whatever activision has for the future of Spyro.

Re: If you owned Spyro

Yea I love the classics from Jazz JackRabbit to Ty the tasmanian tiger. I want to revitalize the classics I love but I need to get into the industry first. I'm focus on a writer and game scriptor and lead or assistant game designer. Only problem is it takes a few years to become noticed to get higher end jobs. Also, especially now since the job market is getting more competitive. Still I believe especially after how Mario Galaxy has proven that 3D platforming can still be new, creative and unique shows there's definetly a market out there but they deserve better then what Activision has been tossing out.

So what is your idea for the future of Spyro the Dragon?

Re: If you owned Spyro

Hmm, Ty.  the commercial is ironic in hindsight.

I want to tie in a bunch of different games.  Even the Starfox backstory could be explained in my idea.

Re: If you owned Spyro

I loved the commercial. Only reason I got the game but I want to focus on Soyro individually and since this takes place in the Spyro worlds visit the old levels maybe with added parts to maps and upgraded graphics. Spyro can easilly be one of the most beautiful games if done right.

So what is your idea?

Re: If you owned Spyro

Activision is terrible with their IP's. They hardly listen to their community and give out gimmicks like Tony Hawk ride which unfortunately killed the franchise or constant annual releases that murder others like guitar hero. Also the relationship they have with developers is horrible. Killing Bizarre Creations because Activision forced them to work on games like Blur and 007 Bloodstone led to it's death or dismembering ones like Infinity Ward is insane.  I can't believe Bungie would sign with them. It's beyond me but Activision will learn the same lesson EA did. Call of Duty and World of Warcraft are it's only major IP's and instead of focusing on future titles they barely have made any steps forward besides Bungie's acqusition. If they don't move forward their going to be left behind and I think that's already happening.

Re: If you owned Spyro

If I owned Spyro I would start my own game developing company and make a new Spyro game. It would be like original Spyro games but little bit longer. Boss battles would be same kind as in Spyro 2 and 3 but different bosses. New home worlds and levels. And some crazy hard minigames and puzzles (but they would be optional unless you want to unlock bonus level)

I would do the same if I owned Spyro. Also maybe some elements or features from other games not previously seen in the classic series could be added if it worked well. Some possibilties might be multiplayer, mods, and leveling up.

If I owned the series, Spyro HD, which would be a re-packaging of the first three Spyro games. That'd be *bleep*ing awesome.

Oh, man! And so's the Tony Hawk franchise for the first two! If only Sly would re-release the first three since they've got a fourth one in the works. I LOVE the Sly series.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it possible to make spyro green using some cheats in Gateway to glimmer? I can only remember that the last button meant the color... I think triangle was green.
