Re: A Spyro MMORPG?

Spyro MMO? It's an interesting theroy - and sounds good in throy, but look at it like this

1) Sierra is to lazy to buckle down and do a good MMO for Spyro (Should dump it on Blizzard Entertainment's doorstep and see what they do, lol)

That's the biggest thing in the way, but a real Spyro MMO would be fun but think of the dedication needed to be involved.

Are we expecting something crappy like RuneScape

Runescape isn't crappy - I would love to hear your reasoning on that, please.

[i]NO TO SPYRO MMO!!! It is not that kind of game. That would be like making a Mario MMO or a Metroid MMO... It would never work.

And I wouldn't say Runescape is completely HORRIBLE. There are many good things about it. But I would still say the pros are definitely outweighed by the cons.

Pros:
-Excellent Quest System (best I've ever seen)
-Simple Combat System
-Simple Trading and Economy system
-Many different skills

Cons:
-Must... Grind... Now...
-Horribly unbalanced combat
-Doesn't have many "RPG" elements
-Skills are very limited individually
-Bad grouping system
-Bad chat system
-Bad social system in general
-Community made up of mostly tweens
-Too many spambots and macros
-Random events are a PITA
-Horrible PvP system
-Can't really impact the game in any major way.
-Very few quests
-Health system is too poor (I remember eating... 20 something lobsters at once... WTF?)
-Death is extremely severe.
-Very, VERY small world.
-Uses JAVA (which contains multiple problems, like bad graphics, controls, etc.)
-Still grinding here...

Okay, point well taken. But a Spyro MMO - nah, it won't happen - I wish it would but no it won't work.[/quote]

Re: A Spyro MMORPG?

A Spyro MMO, maybe not.

But another game featuring dragon-kind characters that create sandbox and MMO experience to players...      ...that would be interesting.

It just wouldn't work for Spyro, since he's already well established in the platform genre.

Re: A Spyro MMORPG?

There are a few MMO's out there that let you play as a Dragon. Even World of Warcraft has a potion that can turn you into a dragon.

Re: A Spyro MMORPG?

I'd rather see a normal Spyro RPG before an MMO, just to prove it could be done.

Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

OF ALL TIME!

Play Istaria. I just started it a few weeks ago, and I have to say that despite some obvious glitches and the lack of many players, it is VERY fun. Not to mention it's free.

Re: A Spyro MMORPG?

Is it 100% free? No micro transactions and the like at all?
