The Eternal Night Thought
Hey everyone,
I just had an interesting thought about The Eternal Night, am I the only one who finds a lot of the enemies in this game, not the bosses, the enemies really irritating? I mean in A New Beginning and Dawn of the Dragon the enemies were fun to kill, because they were so dumb, but in Eternal Night they're really cheap and they take forever to kill in my opinion. I noticed this when I was replaying the Dragon Challenges. I kept hitting the enemies but they wouldn't die till I finally just wailed on them. Beating the smaller enemies took me 30 minutes. I mean that's just ridiculous! Comment if you'd like to, but man here I used to like Eternal Night and now I'm starting to hate it.

The game felt to me like a more of a, do your attacks carefully because once you stuffed up once you were literally screwed

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
i agree. i love every aspect of The Eternal Night except the smaller enemies. they made this game so needlessly difficult.

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
Another thing I always wanted to know in Eternal Night, is when Spyro has his dreams and regains his elements, how come he's moved to a different area then where he was when he fell asleep? I never understood that part. Can someone mind explaining it to me?

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
according to Sparx, when they first reached the Celestial Caves (the level with the Chronicler), Spyro hears voices in his physical head and he leads them all over the place. i assume that's what happens the other time (in the forest), too. but remember, the first time (after Cynder leaves) he wakes up in the same place, and the other time (pirate ship) he only wakes up in his room because the pirates put him there.
one's got to wonder why he only gets moved half the time. maybe the intensity of this stuff changes depending on the element. or maybe (probably) it's a detail the writers forgot to sort out.

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
I also wonder what Spyro was staring at during those arena fights on Skabb's ship, remember when he keeps looking up at something? I always questioned what that was about, and your post does answer my question 36IStillLikeSpyro3. Thank you!

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
Wow, I agree 100%
The enemies in this game make it my least favorite of the LoS games. When I first got the game I was amazed at how difficult I found it. There were times when I'd give up on the game for days! And this game is supposed to be for kids... lol. It seriously got on my nerves how I'd be beating up on one enemy for like 10 mins because your attacks take barely a speck away from their health. It's ridiculous! But of course when the enemies hit you they take a bunch of your health away... They should have had a "very easy" option.

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
The destroyer wasn't a real boss. He was a living level. I wouldn't call that a boss.

Remind me, was there any part of that level other than hunting down and finding those crystals?

fighting enemies obviously, and then you traveled down a tunnel at the end, and targeted its "heart". it was still another crystal, but the gameplay was changed up to get rid of that one.

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
And you did a little rail-flying thing, didn't you? I think I remember.
Yeah, I still consider it a level. Just because the level was alive, doesn't make it a boss. I once played a game where I shrunk myself down to fight fleas on a bear's head. It certainly was not a boss.

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
I found A New Beginning MUCH worse for enemies. That final Concurrent Skies level in ANB is more annoying than ANYTHING ELSE IN SPYRO; you can't walk a step without a *bleep* ape leaping at you. The pirate-ship level in TEN is annoying and difficult, but at least there's a bit more alteration. TEN, in my opinion, isn't too bad for enemies.

Re: The Eternal Night Thought
agreed. you know, i loved the level itself, but i get so, so tired of the apes. they really needed more variation. kind of like in TEN, but without all the difficulty.
