Re: My idea for a Spyro game...

Well, everyone, I hate to say this, but I`m discontinuing the Elements of Kaos idea for now. The thing is, I already have several projects on my plate at the moment (writing fan fiction for other groups I belong to, hunting for a job, schoolwork, etc.), so I`m not sure I have the time at this moment to continue working on this particular idea.

Believe me, I greatly appreciate the positive feedback I`ve been getting, and man was I surprised to find how many views this topic scored (over 1000). I`m rather sad to stop working on this, for it helped introduce me to you guys, but the problem is, this particular branch of my river of inspiration has gone dry as of late, and I don`t want to keep you all waiting for another update when there hasn`t been one for about two months now.

Now, this isn`t the first time I`ve discontinued one of my projects; indeed, a similar fate awaited one of my Ratchet & Clank ideas, and for a similar reason. But, that project hasn`t been outright cancelled, necessarily, and neither has this one; I`m just discontinuing them for now to allow myself some mental organization, instead of overloading myself with a few too many projects.

Once more, I`m glad to see this idea of mine made such a positive impression, and I hope I can come back to it someday. But, right now, it isn`t on the cards, so to speak.

If anyone wants to find me, I have an account on GameFAQS, which means GameSpot and Tv.Com too thanks to CNet. I also have an account on Neopets, which I attend to regularly. Finally, I also belong to Insomniac Games` main site and forum, although I`m having trouble logging into the forum from my own PC, due to guests being banned, at least on my PC. (The most plausible explanation is that my IP address matches that of a ToS violator on that site, but who knows.) As a result, I haven`t really partricipated there as of yet.

Anyone who wants to know my usernames for those sites has to PM me, however; I don`t want to risk a spammer/troll following me to those sites and bugging the heck outta me, for which I`ll only have myself to blame for opening myself up like that.

I also belong to one or two other forums, but like my usernames, you`ll have to PM if you want to find them out; unlike CNet, Neopets, and Insomniac Games, they aren`t run by official companies (that I know of) and thus do not have as much power over the prevention of and protection from spammers, flamers, trolls, and the like. After what happened here a few months back, I`m sure you guys can understand my reasoning.

Well, I`m done with the goodbyes now. I don`t think I`ll be showing up here too often, but I`ll check in now and then to see what you guys are up to. And maybe someday I`ll get back to EoK in some form or another. Until then, keep cool, gang.

Re: My idea for a Spyro game...

I think he meant to do that.

I did have an idea for Sparks though. You could switch between Spyro & Sparks freely by pressing Select (or back). It's useful if you need to get to certain areas or find a way that Spyro could get to a platform. However, Spyro will just stand there if your Sparks. It would be wise not to draw too much attention to Sparks or you might get easily outnumbered. Spyro will defend himself if an enemy gets too close so don't worry about him. (Unless he falls off the cliff trying to do so.)

I also have a story written up involving a human in the dragon realms. No, he's not evil. The story is sort of in a rough draft stage and is not finished but you can look at my profile page to see it.

I don't care how it looks but how it functions

The villian in ANB really wasn't Cynder, but the Dark master, and the new game will have Spyro and Cynder fighting him, in all liklihood..

Yes, i know, i know but the main thing i was trying to say was that there was new villians.
oh and Crossfire, i fully support your fan game and i've learnt to accept that Ripto and Gnasty did survive and want to kill spyro again.
But yeah, ETD was really really stupid for not putting a reason why ripto survived so yeah... but atleast your putting a good reason...
As for gnasty Gnorc, maybe hes grown his guts back >_<

Yep, I did.

Interesting idea for Sparx there, but it sounds an awful lot like my Buddy System. While I`m not sure about switching with Sparx (Spex if you want to extend that feature to the Buddies), it could possibly be used or adapted for a power-up of some kind (like Sparx`s realm teleportation power from YoTD). And then there`s always Sparx levels to consider.

I just brainstormed two related ideas: co-op for the main game as well as for Sparx levels. What if there could be a way for a second player to control your Buddy or Spex when appropriate? Although that`d more likely than not mean split-screen, it worked well enough for Ratchet: Deadlocked, and this game would basically be Spyro with a Ratchet & Clank-style update. It`s something to consider.

Many thanks. Ironically enough, however, I`ve actually considered booting Ripto and Gnasty from the story and leaving it at just Kaos (who`s current portrayal is drastically different from the original). But, we haven`t had a recurring Spyro villain in an IG-produced game, and this idea would be meant to pay homage to IG`s sense of style and structure.

Plus, if I axed Ripto, that`d mean I`d have to find a new fifth Home World to write into the story, as the current one would actually be Ripto`s Home World (currently called Reptisauria).

Glad to see this topic still gets some hits now and then. This is one of those check-ins from time to time I mentioned in my previous post. Despite earlier paragraphs, I`m still not ready to continue this topic yet, but if you guys wish to keep it up, be my guest.

Hopefully I`ll get back to this particular idea someday, perhaps with a script theatre when that day comes. In the meantime, keep on chillin` while the dragon`s grillin`.

Re: My idea for a Spyro game...

Its a shame that you have to add "Ripto's homeworld" because i was thinking of fusing my story's timeline with yours, and you would see if you looked in my topic that his homeworld isn't actually ruled by him.
but yeah, its your own story and ideas and stuff so go ahead
