Re: All the info you need to know about THIS GAME! (FINALLY UPDATED 9/17)
4/17/11 update!
MARKETING AND RELEASE: Added an in-depth look of the plannings of launching the upcoming game in Australia, Crystal Palace Luna Park, Sydney. It's like the coverage for the Activision Booth for the "Development" section.
REFERENCES: Added one video link (Matt Chat).
There may be lack of actual game info, but the first entry makes up for it, and gives you something to think about - especially if you're living in Australia, Sydney!
In my world, I believe that there are many, many ideas that are waiting to be created; by inspiration, renewing an old idea, or just by accident.

Re: All the info you need to know about THIS GAME! (FINALLY UPDATED 9/17)
Alright guys, we're in drought mode - after four (4) weeks have been passed, there is still no new info revealed between those very weeks, and today. The status from the first post has been updated to reflect the current situation. I've just checked the E3 website and once again Activision will attend. However, from what I know, the map layout has not been released. Here are the details for those who will attend:
http://e311.mapyourshow.com/3_0/exhibit … camefrom=y
Speaking of E3, I would like to remind you guys that the event will start on the second week of June (June 7 [Tuesday] to June 9 [Thursday]). It is about 30 days away from there. Expect surprises, and disappointments within the area just like every other E3 events. xP
A (very late) response for Jackson117: We are entering a stage of lack of new info at this point. It is to be expected for all other upcoming game releases. E3 is around the corner, so keep that in mind. Additionally, I only update the main posts for only Sundays, as it is dependent on the amount of new info released into the internet. 2-4 weeks at it's best. However, because 4 weeks have passed, and no new info has been revealed since, I call it out as a drought.
In my world, I believe that there are many, many ideas that are waiting to be created; by inspiration, renewing an old idea, or just by accident.

Re: All the info you need to know about THIS GAME! (FINALLY UPDATED 9/17)
Why would they even announce Skylanders yet if they're gonna wait for months to give out any info?
[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/5597209/spashthebandragon] I've got fanfics for Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Frozen, and Spectacular Spider-Man. Err, separately, I mean. Not some weird crossover thing. Those are all separate fanfics.

Re: All the info you need to know about THIS GAME! (FINALLY UPDATED 9/17)
GASP! The update is officially here, and it’s more blown out than ever! Composed of all the rambling stuff regarding the upcoming Skylander game for the past two or three weeks (between May 22 to June 12), this has been the biggest update I ever made so far. And here are the following inputs!
6/12/11 update:
I have upgraded from ordinary forum posts into using Google Docs! This will let me do some nifty things that weren’t possible in the forums. Plus, it would be easier to update this than updating the stuff separately for DarkSpyro or the Spyro Forums (Why so? I'll probably bore with the details, just technical stuff). However, this means I will not update the main posts in the topic.
In order to make sure the sources I have listed is being used properly, I have done two things: 1) Make all the sources assigned with a letter, and a number - it should be pretty self-explanatory, and 2) Added those coding tags like this - “[(a letter)(a number)]”, and colored the text associated to it. Let’s see how it works out!
Finally, I split the info and reference links up into two sections. Less mess that way.
[MAIN]: Added RATING(S) entry, the game has been rated E10+ for “Everyone 10 and up” via ESRB.
[MAIN]: Added confirmed platforms for the game will be in: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Microsoft PC.
GAMEPLAY: Due to the different gameplay for the 3DS version, there might be the possibility of different gameplay among platforms, so what I decided is to make sub-sections with “all versions”, “Wii/X360/PS3 version”, “3DS version”, “online version”, and “mobile phone version”. I think they should be placeholders for now.
DEVELOPMENT: Added info regarding the start of the development of the game. This is very interesting, because the game originally aimed for being a M-rated game. Former employees of RedOctane are involved, and the company went through a lot of character ideas before they narrowed it down to 32.
PLAYABLE CHARACTERS: Added some new info! You have to find out yourself!
FAQ: Did some cleanup. Added a new entry, tis a bit of trivia tho - it’s about the licensed music from the first trailer!
REFERENCES: A bit more clean up, added some sub-sections due to the impeding growth of more links arriving! I missed adding a reference for Spice News’ coverage of the Australian launch event.
REFERENCES: A lot of new reference links!: 2 announcement links (mUmBRELLA, Activision PR), and 20 video links (E3 2011 trailer, Spyro, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, Zap, Chop Chop, Eruptor, Flameslinger, Ignitor, Prism Break, and Stump Smash character trailer, Coin-Op TV interview, GameTrailers, E3 2011 Activision viewing, Nintendo Network, ScrewAttack, GamerLive, Reportaje, B-roll footage, Eurogamer, and Metagamers). Tons to examine and speculate!
REFERENCES: New section...”OTHER”! It pretty much differentiates from sections “ANNOUNCEMENTS”, and “PREVIEWS”. It currently has one entry, an old one (Spice News), and then it gets two new entries (Nintendo Difference interview w/ Jared Yeager, a pre-E3 teaser received from Game Informer, and Gamastura).
NOTE: I’ve been hearing that there are new level names mentioned within the last couple of weeks, and saw some of them, but I couldn’t find them among the many topics and posts that are recently created in the Skylanders section. If you guys can find them for me, along with the attachment of images - that would be awesome.
I may feel like that I’m missing a couple of more stuff, so I tried my best to cover the best I can.
EDIT: Oh my Celestia...I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaallly tired. I should play a video game after this......or take a nap, or have a bunch of ponies dancing around my brain. ~_~

Re: All the info you need to know about THIS GAME! (FINALLY UPDATED 9/17)
9/17/11 big time update! It’s been a while since I did it, and when was the last time I updated it? 6/12/11? Seriously? Anyway, this is going to be big, so here it is:
GAMEPLAY:
Changed it’s section name from “GAMEPLAY” to “GAME MECHANICS/FEATURES”. The reason was that I read an intriguing article explaining why it’s the dumbest word in the video game world. Feel free to read it to see the point in my eyes. As a interesting consequence, I have also rewritten sentences in the whole document that have the word “gameplay” to better suit to sticking to what the article says. This also applies to the references document (with certain exceptions...).
GAME MECHANICS/FEATURES:
”Xbox 360” - I’ve added all the achievements, which includes the image (linked), the descriptions on how to get the achievement, and the amount of points listed when you gain these things. Note that it’s flipping spoilertastic! Read it at your own risk.
”Nintendo 3DS” - Focus on more platforming than role-playing game mechanics, no multiplayer modes, and to make up for it - upload 2 characters into the 3DS without carrying the Portal of Power all the time.
DEVELOPMENTS:
The section made way of splitting it’s info to two sections: “GAME CONCEPT”, and “VIDEO GAME SHOWCASING”. A new section was added, named “ONLINE/WEB/PC VERSION”!
”online/web/pc version” - details on Activision registering three domain names for the online/web/pc version of the game have been written. It’s not much, the websites are not open yet right now.
MARKETING AND RELEASE:
Added new info! This time is about those gaming packages. Since this upcoming video game will feature a lot of toy figurines, it would be necessary to package them up. It covers the Starter Pack, 2 Character Packs, and 2 Adventure Packs. It’s likely that more will pop up in the coming months.
...and they’re also selling two types of containers exclusively from Toys ‘R Us. Check out the info and images!
...and to top it off, a Spyro keychain...exclusively only through a certain website in Europe!
Added a new sub-section - “FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS”. It’s not much, but if the game is commercially successful, they would consider making a sequel, and have the released figures be used again.
CREDITS:
Yep, it’s a new section...(although it’s somewhat small right now).. Think about it, Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure wouldn’t exist with the people at Toys for Bob developing the game, and Activision (video game company owned by big time multi-industry French company Vivendi) helping them along in terms of providing financial assets. Plus, since the game is going to come out soon, it would be a good time to gather up names of people working on the game.
PLAYABLE CHARACTERS:
This section is now a sub-section of the new “CHARACTERS” section - so it can also co-exist with the awaiting “NON-PLAYABLE CHARACTERS” section.
All 32 (excluding recolored/special edition) playable characters have been revealed from the official website - as a result, some reorganization was needed. So poof!
Speaking of the new info from the official website - the concept of power stats has been added - covering Gill Grunt, Spyro, and Trigger Happy.
It appears there has been some changes in the playable characters’ attack names! For more detailed info, check out the new document; “Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure - BETA ELEMENTS”.
Added new info on Prism Break, Stump Smash, Zap, Flameslinger, Chop Chop, Dark Spyro, Stealth Elf, Voodoo, Bash,
Added a ton of images, replaced a few, and removed some images. Why the removing? The images I previously linked to mysteriously disappeared...darn.
Now added videos for these following characters: Dark Spyro, Sonic Boom, Stealth Elf, Voodood, Bash, Chop Chop, Eruptor, Flameslinger, Gill Grunt, Ignitor, Prism Break, Spyro, Stump Smash, Trigger Happy, and Zap.
REFERENCES:
Sections have been renamed! ”PREVIEWS” has been renamed as “TEXT/WRITTEN COVERAGE”, ”IMAGES” to “IMAGE COVERAGE”, and ”VIDEOS” to “VIDEO/AUDIO COVERAGE”.
Reference add-on recordings get a bit more detailed, now it includes the code ids that hyperlinks are assigned to.
1 announcement link (“Yahoo” [A5])
9 text/written coverage links (“Nintendo Power” [B12], “EL33TONLINE” [B13][B20], “NintendoDojo” [B14], “Game Hunters” [B15], “Wizard World” [B16], “Forbes” [B17], “PocketGamer” [B18], “A+E Interactive” [B19])
16 video/audio coverage links (“The Verge” [D30], “Kotaku” [D31], “Gamereactor” [D33], “IDEF 2011” [D32], “GameTrailers” [D34][D35][D42][D43], “Irate Gamer” [D37], “GamerLive.TV” [D38], -an official Skylanders trailer- [D36], “Coin-Op TV” [D39], “Girl Gamer” [D38], “Platform Nation” [D41], “One of Swords” [D44], “10doTV” [D45])
10 other links (“Xbox360Achievements.org” [E6], “Star Controller” [E9], “Fusible” [E10], “Gamertell” [E11], “Videogamer” [E12], -misc- [E5][E7][E13], “Cultura de blog” [E14]).
I have a feeling I’m actually missing a couple of things. Anyway, I’m not sure if I can keep this thing up - I can declare that this will be my 2nd, or third last update. The final update would be around a week before the release of the video game “Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure”, or after a week; by then, it’s up to you guys to explore the game by yourselves.
In my world, I believe that there are many, many ideas that are waiting to be created; by inspiration, renewing an old idea, or just by accident.

Re: All the info you need to know about THIS GAME! (FINALLY UPDATED 9/17)
Ha, this is a nice update! Can't wait for the game. My only complaint is that the castle turret case is too expensive.
I love the character bios, though I wonder how those could tie into the story given you could play as any character at any time...
