For all those who have played / are playing Skylanders...
Is it any good, despite being overpriced?
Of course my first reaction was WTFISTHISCRAP and I thought it was gonna suck but I actually don't know. I guess I wanted to find out more now that Cynder and Malefor are confirmed? (they look so cute asdsf;dhgjf)
So, hows the gameplay? Anything out of the ordinary?
Story?
Graphics?

Re: For all those who have played / are playing Skylanders...
I would suggest it if you have family/friends who would play it with you, since it's more fun in two-player mode. Skylanders is kinda like one of those Lego Crossover games (Like Lego Harry Potter or Pirates) but with more fighting.
As for Malefor, he's only mentioned in Cynder and Hex's Biographies, and other than a Cynder toy that hasn't come out yet, the game has no connection to Legend of Spyro. It's closer to Classic Spyro artistically, but the gameplay's pretty different.
I personally don't mind the overpricing, and liked getting several toys. I'm not sure how much long-term replayability Skylanders will have (I don't have any Adventure packs, so I don't know if they're any good yet), but it would help if they make a sequel game using the same toys, which they probably will since Skylanders has been reasonably successful.
It's better than Legend of Spyro, at any rate.
(Also, I should stress that whatever Clock-La says, you don't NEED to buy extra toys to play the game. They just unlock side-quests and stuff, nothing too unforgetable.)

If I'm correct, if someone you know has the game and you just buy a figure, you could use their console / game (if they let you of course)?
I heard somewhere that the figures save your data or something.

Re: For all those who have played / are playing Skylanders...
yeah, the save data that applies to the character pieces includes their upgrades, their treasure, their current level, and the hat they are wearing. You can also reset the characters if you want, except the 3DS version does not give you the option to reset, apparently. But switching over to the console version gives you that option anyways. It's important to note that the 3DS version is different in story and gameplay than the console version, the character data will also vary. The upgrades are totally different for each character, i think.

I haven't played Skylanders yet but I heard that Sparx has returned in the game...if you buy the Dragon Peak adventure pack.

Re: For all those who have played / are playing Skylanders...
It's good, pricey though. Like someone said earlier, it's like the LEGO games. You don't HAVE to get every Skylander to complete the story line. But you need one of all the elements too. Oh, and the 3DS version is COMPLETELY different. Instead of a LEGO rpg style, it's a action platformer with different storyline and takes place in one area of the skylands.
