Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
What game was your first game? Did you like it, play it all the way through? What did you think, what was your first impression? How many times have you played it since? Did it make you purchase/play anymore Spyro games? If so, what ones?
My first Spyro game was Year of the Dragon, I got it when I was five. Of course back then, I didn't understand that you had to collect every gem and every egg. Back then my only goal was to get to the final boss.
I remember messing with the controls, and when I pressed circle, I was amazed! He can breath fire! Awesome!
I loved it so much, I fell in love with Spyro and the worlds and the characters, I purchased the first Spyro and Ripto's Rage. And after that, I've purchased every single new once since.
I still play them now, I am actually playing through Year of the Dragon right now, and I usually play through all the old classic games at least once every couple years. I still love them just as much. And now, I know to collect every single thing! xD

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
Spyro 1 was my first one. However, it was at the point it became a "greatest hit", and the next two were already out.
First impressions? Well, along with Crash 1, it was my first console game ever (played many computer games beforehand though), so I was thinking mostly "Wow, this controller is awesome".

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
My first was Spyro 2, but the first one I played was a demo of Spyro the Dragon at the store where I discovered Jazz Jackrabbit. To this day, those two characters are my favorites.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
2nd game was my first one.
I liked it a lot, although I sucked at it and I never collected anything. I think I played the first one next, and then the third one.
I think I played them around the time the fourth one came out and I almost cried because of how bad it was.
OH, I'M SORRY, WE WILL MAKE THIS TOPIC CATER SPECIFICALLY TO YOU, I APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
I played them in a weird order. It went: 3rd, 2nd, then the 1st.
I still have not finished the 1st one.

Yes, I did. But it took me about the same time as you. WEll, actually, it took
me two and a half tries to figure out what he was doing or going to do, then
another two to try and beat him.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
After watching some neighbors playing Spyro 2, of which I can remember seeing a green valley/canyon with Cowleks from Zephyr, and a bit of Summer Forest, my brother wished for - and got - Spyro: Year of the dragon for Christmas. I think we were around 7-8 years old.
The memory that stands out the most is Sheila's Alp, probably because it is my favorite of the Sunrise Spring levels(aesthetically). I fell in love with classic Spyro, with it's colorful worlds and general awesomeness immediately.
Some time later, my brother bought Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer.
We didn't complete Spyro 3 in a few years. The first obstacle great obstacle was the pink gem behind the break-able wall in Sheila's area in Spooky Swamp, which is visible through a metal lattice. We tried everything, but couldn't get through the lattice. Then one day I accidentally kicked the wall, and we gained access to Super Bonus Round!
The yeti snowboard race was difficult. It took us more than a year(of playing this game, and other games) before we made it.
Along with Crash Bandicoot 2, we found Spyro the Dragon pre-owned at GameStop. This game had the most lovely "magical" feeling of them all. Something I remember really well, is how #%& difficult it was to do that glide from the hill and onto the platform with gems in Artisans home without hover.
I still love Insomniac's three Spyro games, and they've been my favorite games to this day, closely followed by Crash 2 and 3.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
I remember playing the very first Spyro game and thinking, "Wow, this is so fun!"
Since then I've learnt to play the games for other things, but I still love playing the classics just for fun And I've bought every game since.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
Sorry if this is a late reply. This board was coming up as "404" for a while.
Anyway, I got the 1st game from my parents less than a year after it came out. Didn't 100% for a long time after because of the beast makers world. XD
after that I got the 2nd and 3rd because I liked the 1st, and then I got the gba games when they came out (didn't get the ps2 ones because I didn't have 1 at the time. :<).

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
My first was Spyro 1.
However, my first Spyro experience happened before I even owned a Playstation. I was at a friend's house staying over for the night and he had just got a Playstation. I was so jelly. I saw a demo for Spyro and said, "Oh yeah, I saw that commercial, let me play it." As my friend watched me play and walked me through it, I immediately fell in love with the free roam and character interaction with the elements in the game, even though it wasn't much. I kept playing through the demo multiple times, playing all three levels over and over that was available to me.
About a few months later, my parents surprised me by getting me a Playstation for my birthday. I was not expecting it. They planned it well with me opening up presents that were PSX games and getting mad at my dad for getting games for the wrong system (I had a SNES).
I didnt get Spyro at first, but I bought it with my extra birthday money about a week later.
My experience playing it was like playing a never-ending demo. I was hooked.
Wake me up... when September ends is here...

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
My first Spyro game which was my video game I ever played was Spyro 1 then I got Spyro 3 then Spyro 2 although out of the 3 Spyro 1 was the last one I could beat all the way the only trouble I had with that at the time was the flight levels.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
I was three or four years old when I made my mom buy me the first one, and my first impression was that the purple dragon on the cover looked cool. Insightful, right?
I like the original Spyro trilogy.
I am currently ranking the 74 main levels from it.. which you probably already know if you're reading this, since my ranking thread is basically the only place I'm posting.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
I believe my first Spyro game was Season of Ice on the GBA, and I instantly fell in LOVE with the Spyro series. I even got A Hero's Tail for Playstation 2, and thought it was broken, because I didn't know you had to use the JOYSTICKS and not the arrows on the controller. I eventually got the hang of it.

The Eternal Night is the only Spyro game I have for the Wii. So ... that's
literally the only thing I have ever done on a Wii that I liked.

But I'm not into that weird anime stuff. Or any games from Japan ...
BF is from Sweden, Spyro is ... from somewhere. Halo is American I think.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
I bought the first Spyro game when it first came out, but I hated it, so I traded it in for another game. I'm totally enjoying Skylanders, though. I didn't even know it was Spyro until later on afterwards. So I guess Spyro series has somewhat redeemed itself in my eyes, if it continues like this. <3

Spyro 3 > Spyro 1
You should totally give it a try. I'm sure your opinions would have changed by now, especially because Skylanders is supposed to be quite similar to the original Spyro games.

Re: Your First Spyro Game - What was your first impressions?
Also, like I pointed out in the Introductions thread, I think you may be thinking of the Legend of Spyro series that came out a few years ago or other newer games rather than the actual first game that came out in the 90s on the original playstation. It's not that I'm saying you can't dislike it; it's just that most of us here are too young to have gotten the game when it was just released, so unless you're like 25 and last played it over 10 years ago....
Edit: Reading your other posts, it does seem like you're a bit older than the average age of this forum, so never mind I guess.
