Re: Would it be nice if....

Well, if I ever had the rights to the series, you could be sure I'd do that.

Re: Would it be nice if....

How much is spyro worth now... something like $600 million (I read that somewhere, forgot where though)?

Re: Would it be nice if....

Spyrorocks, I don't think it has reached $600 m. Read at the top of this link. It says The franchise has made over $525 million over the years.

Re: Would it be nice if....

Ah OK. I was pretty close.

I think we should stop whining about Insomniac, and just focus on where the series has gone now.

Re: Would it be nice if....

That would be nice. I really don't mind it much anymore. I guess I've adapted more to the new Spyro. Maybe I should go play one of the older ones again.. :-P

Re: Would it be nice if....

I agree with SR, here. Insomniac stopped making the series because, as they themselves said, there was nothing more they wanted to do with it. They were happy to send it off to someone else (assuming they even had any say in it at all) and are content to be working on what they have now. They're not going to take the Spyro games back and I think that's just fine. I like what Krome/Sierra is doing with the series well enough and, regardless, they're the people who have it now. Can we stop bringing this topic up?

Re: Would it be nice if....

yes, i agree.
Well Ummm you dont really need to by the rights to spyro to make a game!, do you think Krome has $525 million?
But yeah, maybe as i've said, later in our lives a few of us here can make a spyro game "professianally", but lets not think about that now!

Re: Would it be nice if....

I don't know what the original Spyros were like, but from the complaints on Enter the Dragonfly, I'm glad to see the series being remade from scratch.  I already have ANB's story in my head as "classic spyro", so it'd be hard for me to adjust to something completely different if the original company bought back the series.

Re: Would it be nice if....

spyro wouldn't be anything without Insomniac. Lets say that AHT was the first Spyro game ever, and that none of us ever knew about Spyro. How many of you would've bought it?

I would have, in fact, I had thought about getting AHT before I saw that ANB was the re-boot game.  I like to play game series from the beginning, but that is me. wink

Re: Would it be nice if....

Does everyone have to complain about Insomniac getting Spyro back? They seem to prefer guns wielding better. What did you think they ran out of ideas? (Or Universial Studios bought the rights before they barly finish Spyro 4.)

I would like to put a new question... but I don't think I should just barge it into someone else's topic.

I don't care how it looks but how it functions

Re: Would it be nice if....

I swear it was stated in an interview somewhere that Insomniac were happy to give out the franchise after what they did and move onto other things. They thought they couldn't do anything with him in the current gaming generation, and that's fair considering outside of the first three Spyro games, a lot of their game produce tended to have shooter-based and/or futuristic characteristics.

Re: Would it be nice if....

I saw the same interview you did Rexy, I think. I remember it fondly because one of the reasons sited for being finished with the Spyro series was the fact that he has no thumbs. XD
