Was Malefor immortal/invincible in DotD?
According to some recources, even though Malefor escaped from the Well of Souls at the end of TEN, he didn't get his mortal/physical body back, but was still a spirit of some sort. This would mean that, as some sort of spirit, he should be immortal/invincible to a certain degree, thus undefeatable?
What do you guys think?
Thanks

Certainly could be possible, after all I don't think a young purple dragon could defeat a fully powered adult one....but that would be up for the developers to decide. Can easily swing either way.

That's what I think too.
And Malefor said it himself at the end 'I am eternal'
And even though Spyro and Cynder's combined Convexity Breath managed to overpower and hit Malefor and knock him to the ground, the attack didn't seem to have done any damage at all to Malefor as he just stood back up, in top shape, as if nothing had happened. So maybe he is really immortal and not even able to feel pain.

Cool. I never took real notice at his quote of being eternal. Who says he died anyway??? He just passed through some stone that i guessed trapped. Thank you phantom elders...

Yeah, you're totally right. Malefor defeated was thanks to the help of those dragon spirits, not thanks to Spyro and Cynder. Spyro and Cynder couldn't defeat Malefor, because Malefor is much stronger than them, so if those spirits hadn't interfered, Malefor would have killed Spyro and Cynder.

No they didn't defeat him, it was all help from something else, but at least they were brave enough to confront him, thus causing the dragon spirits to take action against him once drawn into the earth's core.

Since Malefor wasn't in his physical body, but only a spirit of some sort he didn't even belong to the world of the living, so I think that's why the spirits of the ancestors dragged him away from the living world and into the crystal, because he was a spirit and thus didn't belong in the living world in the first place.
Normally, spirits aren't allowed to act in the living world and on things that belong to said world, but since Malefor kinda was an exception to that rule cuz he was a spirit instead of a living creature, the ancestors were allowed to take him away from the living world.
This is what I think

Same could go with Hidan.....His immortal yet fully rendering his Physical form in pieces resulted in him being MIA

I cannot believe that they were at the core of the earth. technically, if one was able to go to the center of a planetary structure, gravity would pull almost equally on all sides, giving a weightless experience.

True but that's all I can take from that scene, and I highly doubt that the developers were focused that much on every single aspect of gravity, earthly concepts ect. They just did what looked pretty cool at the time.

Not trying to bring religion into this, but some of this seems to be more than just an epic coincidence.
If accurate to Revelations, maybe Malefor is alive, being tortured in the earth's core.

Re: Was Malefor immortal/invincible in DotD?
AH! About the Eternal part, I believe that the small comic page the artist shalonesk made was Spyro jokeing to Malefor that Eternal means for ever but it doesnt mean he is Immortal. I would post the pic link to it however... It has a very large and Capitalized Bull S word so im not sure if i can post it. But its a pretty good joke about this topic.
Then again i agree that a small purple and young dragon with his female companion couldnt take down a powerful one like him. Bosses never go down that easy. Or atleast if he DID go down he was just the begining.
My proof of this is look at Bleach (for those who has seen any amount of it) Ichigo beat the bounts, How ever a new threat arises and then he must beat them but he is weaker then them. and has to build more strength and so on over the last few seasons i had watched before it got to crazy for me. ALSO Dragonball z You take one one annoying evil dude but you still have the one who was controlling him. I would think of better examples but these are the best i can come up with at thee moment.
What im trying to get at is It is never that easy. (which is my same slogan for any Legend of Zelda game getting the one chest is never that easy)

I had always thought it was a "new" Well of Souls. Malefor went out with that, "not again!" look on his face.

Re: Was Malefor immortal/invincible in DotD?
My thought
He was to powerfull for the dragon to kill so they seals him away using a big power.
but the ape's knew how to un do this "power" and made plans to free there master
then he's free yay spyro trys to kill him, but ofcorse he was to powerful then like on DOTD the spirits come and seal him away once more, im assuming with NO way out this time.

There is always a way out when your a mad power craved overlord like Malefor. He will find a way out. Once again my legend of zelda ultimatum, "Getting that chest is never that easy" aka getting ride of Malefor isnt as easy as shown in DotD. Until he falls on a spike of earth or something like in this one Fan comic i read... as long as he is alive he will come back.

Who knows if this is the end of him... Sierra said, that they'd make Spyro games with the TLOS timeline, Just not a particular "TLOS" game.
Since Skylanders is a spin-off and not canon (I suppose) it's entirely different from what the time-line series will be. I don't know if Malefor is sealed forever. Probably is..But we can only find out :3

Actually, Sierra belongs to Activision now.
In 2008, Sierra parent company Vivendi Universal Games, which had since been renamed Vivendi Games in 2006, merged with video game publisher Activision to form the Activision Blizzard holding company. Vivendi Games ceased to exist and ownership of Sierra was transferred over to Activision.
I hope they'll decide to continue the story.
Even in the darkest of times, there is always hope...
...that Activision decides to make profit with selling the rights for Spyro to someone who is no moneybag.
