Re: Ratchet Has TLOSANB

Ok, well i finally played it, it reminds me of a 3rd person beat-em-up game with fire.
the music's quite good except not as catchy or rememberable as the original trilogy, the sound effects arn't bad, The controls arn't the best (square should be circle vice versa) and practically, charge is useless.
The combat is great, it is the best beat-em-up style combat i've played (i havn't played much) and the gems and the breaths were a nice addition to things, the story is mag but i've already said that.
Altogether though, the game is too easy and short and once you have beaten cynder you cant go back and get "100%" by getting all the collectables and skill points because there arn't any.
Because of the lack of mini-games this makes the game quite repetative, but smashing bad guys IS pretty fun!
There really arn't any collectables besides the gems to upgrade your breaths, so really after the game you'd be asking for more!, and although i found collecting EVERY GEM quite demanding in the original trilogy, i preffered  the gameplay in the original trilogy better.
This really doesn't remind me of a platform but who cares, 6.5/10 because krome should of made a new dragon, it was too easy and the gameplay wasn't THAT good!

Re: Ratchet Has TLOSANB

THat was one of the complaints against ANB, it was too short and relatively easy. TEN is quite a bit more difficult plus there are collectibles in TEN.

Re: Ratchet Has TLOSANB

I hope that in the third game you can have a co-op mode, because then you can play as Cynder or Hunter as a secondary character. Judging on the previous two games however, it is likely it wil be a one player game. also, I'd imagine that Spyro woill have to re-relearn his abilities in the third game, it seems like every game he has to relearn them. The first game he used up his powers beating Cynder. I imagine creating that forcefield to protect himself Sparx and Cynder in the second game, cost him most of his powers.

Re: Ratchet Has TLOSANB

Well the idea of losing powers is really crap and cheesy...but i see why
But i do hope for a co-op mode, even if 2 player plays as an orange spyro... i dont care if it doesn't fit the story, JUST MAKE A CO-OP!

Re: Ratchet Has TLOSANB

Here is where moist of the Spyro fandomagrees, that a co-op would be freaking sweet. Maybe, you can get co-op as an unlockable after beating the game.. The more extras you can cram in, the more replayability you get. TEn is  more replayable than ANb, I imagne the 3rd title will be more replayable still.

Spyrorocks wrote:

Shut up Spyrorocks, just cause your admin doesn't mean you can do whatever, oh crap it does ><... RUN FOR YOUR LIFE *jumps off a cliff*

anyhow...
6.5/10
Why?
Gameplay-4/10
Gameplay is really boring, all you do is mash buttons, you dont need any tactics, you just defeat them and move on. THere is no difficulty, you hardly die seing you recharge your health easily with the gems your enemies spit out and find in "spirit crystals" you find everywhere... even if you die you go right back just where you were so it doesn't matter.
you have more than 3 methods of attack, flaming "magic" using different elementels which you can upgrade, the usual combat, cool fury moves and more. though seeing and using these moves are cool for a while, you will get bored soon, and just wish you could go and supercharge or play a minigame.
The boses are quite easy and dont require many tactics, if you die the boses go back to the start of their current health bar so there is nothing really to worry about.
Really, this is an untactical button mashing game... and its sinch but the levels are long and tiring, you just wish you could see something different
There are also some quite easy puzzles but most of the time they just frustrate you and wish they are over.

Story-8/10
The story was the best part of this game.
Even though the big voice actor names didn't appeal that much, the cutscenes graphics are superb.
The actual story was avarage but it was nice how it gave it an epic feel though some ideas have already been used and sometimes we get sick of the whole thing being about "dragons" and "magic" and "darkness".
There are only a few cutscenes which are unskippable, most are skippible by L1.
Theres nothing else much to say about the story.

Control and camera-7/10
The Camera was fantasitc and was easy to control but the actual controls were a bit... messed.
Firstly, the breaths are square, in the originals it was circle, this just muddles things up.
charge is now R1 which sucks and heck, the charge is awful.
L1 is strafe except it isn't as good as say ratchet and clank but it will help you.
all the rest of the controls are reasonable.

Audio-7/10
THe music is nice but no way as catcy as the orginals, the monkey noises are annoying but most other sound affects are avarage but still a nice addition.
as said, the voice actors arn't anything special.

Length and Replay Value- 5/10
It was lucky to recieve a 5, this game is as short as my temper when i'm playing Mickey's wild adventure... You'll be extremely lucky to get more than 5 hours out of this game.
I finished it in 3 and well theres no "100&" because theres no collectables or skill points... So the game restarts automatically.
And when it restarts the only thing you do is go through the same game, and the only objective is to upgrade your breaths, yeah, fun!

Avarage-6.2, i'll round it up to 6.5 just for you!
