Spyro's Kingdom Website
A fan found the official Spyro's Kingdom website, showing concept art, a video, and a demo of the cancelled MMORPG. It was going to be developed by Helios Interactive, and to be based on the LoS series.
It was going to have qualities similiar to its successor, ''Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure'', including mentions of the Portal of Power and having toys used to personalize your dragon character. In the game, you could also customize your lair, similar to a feature in Spyro's Universe.

Re: Spyro's Kingdom Website
Interesting find!
I'm not really surprised this got canceled, though, when I look at the concept art and gameplay video. It might just be that it was very early in the development process, but it doesn't look very good.
Somehow, the level concept art doesn't really match with the gameplay shown in the video, and looks more like something that could have been in Skylanders, rather than the game they were actually making.

Re: Spyro's Kingdom Website
It could have been interesting, but it would inevitably be overrun by scalies (lizard version of furries). In that case, Spyro WOULD be dead.

Re: Spyro's Kingdom Website
^ if that was the case, wouldn't the scalies already be in the Spyro fandom? and it's not dead now, so why would an MMORPG do it? how are scalies worse than some groups of people more-than-frequently associated with Spyro?
anyway, i've been playing the demo, it's fun considering it's an incredibly small demo of an incredibly incomplete thing, and it has a frame rate of something like 2 times a second.
if somebody makes a video of this and puts it on YouTube, let me know.

Re: Spyro's Kingdom Website
When I play Spyro, or Starfox, or Sonic, my gameplay experience is limited to interactions between myself and an NPC or someone I know personally. There are scalies and furries in these fandoms, but I don't have to encounter them in the game. They would ruin the MMORPG experience for many players.
That's why I think an Elder Scrolls MMORPG is a bad idea.

Re: Spyro's Kingdom Website
And besides that, I'm sure it would be overrun with young fanbrats like the DotD ones a few years ago.
This is really interesting to see, though. I can't download that plugin, but if someone could make a video of it, it could be a good first video on the new youtube channel.

You have a point but the main reason the Elder Scrolls MMO is going to be *bleep*. Is because knowing Bethsda it's going to be the most broken MMO game in existence. Surpassing even Final Fantasy XIV in how broken it is.

Bethesda isn't making it. ZeniMax is. It's gonna be way different than other Elder Scrolls games I bet. It's gonna be awful I'm sure.
Anyway, I tend to be against making MMOs for games like this. The other players tend to ruin the experience and the game world.

Re: Spyro's Kingdom Website
here's a 1024x768 of the menu background with just the logo. i got this by combining the menu screen and the loading screen.
with some slight editing, here's the plain background itself. though far from "plain", i dare say.

Re: Spyro's Kingdom Website
I like seeing the different concepts of Spyro games. I am still in favor of the
fan-made game that is not fully developed yet, as it is based off of the original
three Spyro games.
