Spyro 4
Yo!
So, I am an experienced Game Developer, and I saw the opportunity. Why not make a fresh Spyro? I have CryENGINE 3, I have a few contacts, and I have skills...
So, If you have any skills in the fields of 3D Game Development, then Please reply.
Also, I need some story writers. I will get started on some 3D Modelling & Texturing, so please reply.
(CryENGINE 3 Made the game Crysis 3)

Re: Spyro 4
Do you have anything done with the gameplay? Something like Spyro moving around, or just some models and other stuff like textures, music...?

Re: Spyro 4
So far, we have made some models and textures. Also, a quick announcement: This game will be F2P unless we get a publisher. And we will release the source code & assets to the public unless we get a publisher.

Re: Spyro 4
How is this project working out?
If there is any tangible seriousness to it I might be interested in lending a hand.
I am a somewhat experienced indie game developer who is about to finish his bachelor in software engineering aimed at precisely game development.
I am mainly a programmer (know C++, C#, Java and BASIC well, have some experience with Lisp and Erlang as well) but I also write music. I am however hopelessly ungifted when it comes to graphics, be they 3D or 2D so I won't be able to help with that.
The reason I could consider doing this (which will obviously be branded copyright infringement, should it ever get to a publishable state - although I'm not sure if there is such a problem as long as you don't make any money on it?) is that I will soon become unemployed and thus have quite some spare time on my hands. Also, game development is a big passion of mine and has been for many years, and seing to how this all traces back to a certain littple purple dragon (Spyro 1 was my first video game ever) I think he'd definitively deserves my tribute
That said, it would seem this project is rather dead... or?
As to the notion of using CryENGINE, sure. But it's not really built for this kind of game. I generally prefer to write my own game engines, and I think such a solution would be quite fitting here as well.
Well, let me know if these plans are still alive, and what they are more exactly too

Re: Spyro 4
Looks like grass or some nice mossy ground The size might be a little overkill, though:P (unless this is just something that will be beautifully scaled down to whatever size is necessary)

Re: Spyro 4
Handpainted in about 30 minutes. Originally a realistic texture I made for a past project, and I just filtered it. It's supposed to be grass, similar to Spyro, of course.
It's a 1k texture because it's the terrain's main texture. I'm going to add some detail textures on top of it, and some decals to make it a bit more exciting.
And I forgot to make it tile, good thing that's kinda easy to do.
