Spyro gameplay ideas
Again for the fan game script I'm writing for Spyro. What do you guys like for game mechanics? I intend on keeping the traditional charge, fire, and headbutt as well as the glide. Is there anything else spyro should be able to do. In the third game I'll add flight.
Liked the original games, didn't like the newer ones. You go ahead an like whatever you want though.

also, if you can work it in, be wild and add in the ability to roll back from Spyro 1.

This really isn't for a game in actual production. It's more like a fanfiction in game script form. Nobody's making an actual game out of this as of yet.
Liked the original games, didn't like the newer ones. You go ahead an like whatever you want though.

I would say unless it's restricted flight or only in certain areas (i.e. flight "stages") I wouldn't suggest any form of permanent flight. That's one of the reasons I think DotD was bad (you know, besides all the other reasons it was bad. >.>).
As for normal controls, I would say ISLS had a good idea in the roll back and hover, and Sheep's supercharge idea would also be nice (since that was another fun thing about the original Spyros) It wouldn't even be too difficult, even if you stuck to the LoS type of gameplay, since Spyro's abilities changed from game to game. Just tack it onto the lightning alternate attack.

Actually, I've never played DotD, but the ability to fly was one of the few things that actually interested me about it. *shrugs* I don't like the legend of Spyro series in general and I absolutely hate games with fight stages. I think if done right a good flight mechanic would be good to pull off, but since this is just a script and not an actual game it's not as if anyone is going to actually have to play it. XD My whole fan script is more of a "what if" idea than an actual game.
