Why was Spyro: Ever After cancelled?

A name so magical with this wonderful concept art:

Could not of been a bad game.
It was to be an educational PC game. Just imagine Spyro having to solve riddles, math and spelling to get to new locations in levels?

Imagine a moneybags thing: "Spyro, in order to open this bridge, you must solve 6+10"

Personally, this would of been a cool idea. Sad its cancelled. Does anyone have anymore info on it?

PS. Spyro Ever After should of been the name of Spyro Shadow Legacy. Ever After usually is referred to as a "Tribute" and to "Last Forever". Spyro Shadow Legacy was the final game of the classic and true spyro series.

Re: Why was Spyro: Ever After cancelled?

Google says the game never got past the storyboard. i assume there's not much more info to find out about it. being an 18-year-old, i don't know if i'd go for an academically-oriented Spyro game, but i guess it would make academics more fun for, you know, the target audience. on the other hand, that would take away from the magic of Spyro games. what fun is there in learning math? why not just run around and flame bad guys and charge treasure chests? plus i just got a horrible visual in my head of Spyro flying onto the screen and saying "come on, kids. LEARNING IS FUN!", and now i'm going to bed.

I didn't even know anything about this. Might have been cool for kids, but I'm a few years too old for that kind of thing myself.

I just don't think Spyro would be fun as an educational game. I wouldn't like to constantly answer math questions.
