Moneybags inspired the idea of Skylanders?

I heard Moneybags saying a quote to Spyro in Midnight Mountain if you refuse to pay him to release Agent 9:

"You don't want to free him? Ahhh, what's the matter, little dragon? Are you just jealous that no one has ever made an action figure out of you?"

It was mentioned that Toys for Bob played the original games while developing Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Did Moneybags' quote inspired them, or was it just a coincidence?

boy, you really hate Skylanders, don't you?

fortunately, i do too, and understand completely how a greedy bear who takes gems from an innocent young dragon so that he can go forward in preserving justice would inspire business moves like all the Skylanders merchandise.

If you visit the Spyro Wiki that Aura24 runs, or look up my posts on dark spyro then you will see how far my hatred to skylanders expands.

I think it actually turns people off from the forums sometimes, as did all the heated TLoS vs. classic arguing a while ago.

There's obviously a bit of difference between Moneybags requiring money to save the world and Activision, you know, just selling products. tongue I don't think Aura24 was really going for the "evil/greedy" comparison in the OP.

It might be possible that that's where they got the idea of making the action figures, but I have to wonder how far and in depth they actually played the original games and if they even got that far. I don't think they would have wanted to spend too much of their work time on them, just enough to get the general idea of what they're like.

No I wasn't going for the "evil/greedy" comparison. I was talking about the idea of Skylanders having been inspired possibilty from what Moneybags said since TFB had played the originals while making SSA. I guess the very mention of the word 'Skylanders' can send any Skylander hater to say a heated rant.

"Action figure out of Spyro".

They have also played through the Legend series as well, evident with Cynder and Malefor.

Skrillex produces electro-house-infused dubstep, which has made dubstep become mainstream. Because of this many people who want to enjoy 'real' dubstep complain that all the dubstep at the moment is this new 'Brostep' style... because it kind of is, and I and many others HATE it xD
