Crossover

I was just wondering what do you guys think if they took all the Spyro characters from the original,LOS, and the worst skylanders and finally sonic the hedgehog universe and put them all together into one game would that be a good idea

Uh, this. Spyro and Sonic just don't go together, and neither do different spyro universes, really.

it could work. but i just see all kinds of potential problems coming from this. i can imagine the dialogue being kind of awkward, i can see confusion stemming from having 3 Spyros all together (in-game and for some people playing it), etc.

but those issues CAN be worked out, and if they can, i see this as something worth considering to developers.

Remove all the legend and skylanders, keep the classic spyro, add sonic, add mario and crash, and we have a winner.

To be perfectly honest though, id love to see classic spyro return for AT LEAST a sport game. I always said they should of made a stand alone game with all the spyro speedways and mini games combined. big_smile

Come on, Flapjacks, was that really necessary?

Can't honestly say I can see this working at all. Crossovers in general are hard to do well, but three different Spyros would just be... strange. And very hard to explain in a way that doesn't completely break suspension of disbelief.

I had to. From what I've seen of darkspyro, this would've been a popular thread. I didn't mean to offend, I only intended to.

Not entirely. Shaundi from the SR2 world and shaundi from the SR3 world in one game. (Saints Row 4).

They could easily send classic, legend and skylanders spyro into one world, and explain it like this:

Spyro: "What the..."
Legend Spyro: "Whats going on here?? This is getting weird..."
Skylanders: "HERRRRRRRRRRR BLARRG!"

Having never played the games in question, I can only assume you're right that the crossover does work well. But the example you gave of an explanation... doesn't really explain anything. It shows that they're confused, but not what they're all doing there and why there are three Spyros. Without a proper explanation, this would annoy me, and I would have to resort to the explanation that the developers did it to pander to the fans somehow. Without a good in-story reason, immersion would be pretty badly broken, at least for me.

Maybe I'm nitpicking, but that's how crossovers (like that one Sonic game with both old and new Sonic that I've also never played (so maybe it's good, I have no idea, so please don't shoot me)) feel to me. No good explanation within the story, done in a desperate effort to make the different sides of the fanbase stop arguing and get along.

They could easily just say some odd portal opened up that forced them all into the same world from their own respective dimensions. Then they can be confused on what happened and they can easily work together to "Get Home".

It would be awesome if, say, Ripto, Kaos and The Dark Master were in on it, similar to how Ripto and Neo Cortex had teamed up once.

idea: all three Spyros are completely unrelated to each other, and are happening at the same time, and convenient storywriting brings them all to the same place at the same time, maybe through portals (remember that there ARE portals in TLOS, like the portal to Convexity, and the portal to the dark master's prison). this happens just as some evil character begins carrying out some kind of plot that would take several heroes to stop. they travel to each other's worlds and their own worlds, or something. let's try to keep Sonic to a minimum, though. maybe he shows up during one of the levels when they go to his universe or something, and then comes back in some kind of final heroic act, but doesn't have much of a role otherwise.

i've had this idea in my head for a while of turning the Artisan homeworld into a boss level, (THIS WOULD WORK, TRUST ME), and this would be a perfect opportunity to finally realize that idea.
