Come round, come all! See this here in mah cage? Itsa dragon, yes it is, and itsa Spyro, if ya must know. Know, please, give up all your fun facts on this little critter and his fun little games!

Okay, really, let's get some fun facts. For example, did you know Spyro was originaly green? Due to the limitations on color at that time and rush-production or something, they turned him purple. Good thing they did! big_smile

There's been dispute over this fact. Some say he was made purple to distinguish him from 'normal' green dragons, while others say he was made purple so that he doesn't blend in with the grass.

That's what I once read out of an old game magazine. Which makes sense looking at the 1st game's starting spot (lots of green). Then again it makes me wonder why a lot of the enemies got away with being green... maybe size? I dunno.

Here's another fun fact: Spyro's voice actor (from 2, 3, and dragonfly), Tom Kenny, works in a lot of cartoons that are quite recognizable. Mayor from powder puff girls, ice king from adventure time, heck even spongebob and rabbit from the newer pooh movie. I think the very original voice actor (Carlos Alazraqui) was the same guy that did the Taco Bell dog's voice.

Everywhere i read, it was said he was changed for only 1 reason and 1 reason only: He kept blending in with the environment. Purple he was able to stand out in all shades of color used in the game.
