Charge vs Charged Jump

I'm not sure if this happened to everyone, but when I was younger, and playing the Spyro games, I was told that charging and jumping at the same time was faster than just charging.

Watching videos on YouTube, I see people doing it all the time. Charging and jumping.

What made people believe this? What have you experienced that proves this?

I've done some "Myth busting" and tested this out. It seems to be that it is faster, but not by much. What do you think about this?

I always "jump-charged" everywhere. I have no idea where I got the idea that it was faster, but I did sometimes wonder about it. Logically I would think it would make more sense for it to be slower, but I always had an easier time catching the thieves while jump-charging.

before i began sending my video games into seizures (2 of my Spyro 2 save datas have negative gem amounts now) with GameShark codes and thus moonjumping everywhere, i seem to remember doing both charging and charge-jumping, depending. i probably charge-jumped more often, though.

I voted charge jumping, because JUST charging aint as fun cool

I always do charge-jumping ^.^ but not because I would find it faster, but just because for fun
