That darkSpyro is getting full of that Skylanders bull____? I can't get a decent Spyro topic these days, nor can I get a good Spyro fan to talk to!

Doesn't bother me; I rarely go there anyway.

I actually debated for a while when I was remodeling the site about whether or not to give Skylanders a more prominent place, but it seemed like most of the community wouldn't care for that. The trade off is that Skylanders brings more members, so we're going to stay a smaller and generally older community here at Spyroforum. This way we're not a direct "competitor" with dS, either. tongue

i've never understood the general disdain for dS that used to be here. is there some kind of past there or something?

but yeah, we're definitely oriented towards the older games more than Skylanders. the fact that an entire website about *certain* Spyro games has enough users to keep going after almost 8 years says a lot by the way, if any companies are reading this. *cough*

I think it's just a rivalry thing. Plus some of the members here used to be dS members but had a falling out back there.

I remember vaguely being on Dark Spyro a long time ago. In general, I think the userbase is younger and a lot larger than here. I always felt like we had a closer community here.

I pretty much lost interest in it because there were tons of trolls and constant drama. Comes with having a large userbase made up of mostly kids, I guess. Spyroforum had a lot of that too back in the LoS days, I might add.

I have nothing against the site; it's just not really my thing. I just didn't really fit anywhere in their community.

I never found a post worth reading or posting to there. I also never found a post by anyone who wasn't an idiot. I didn't look hard. I doubt it would've been worth it to.

i don't have any real issue with it personally, as i've hardly even been on it at all, i just don't like the sound of it - that it's so big. i actually really like how small this site is. i personally wouldn't join a site that big. that's just my preference though.

Yeah, I really like that about here too. That's not what's keeping me from going to DS though so much as, well, I'm not even super into Spyro tongue

Eh... define small. tongue DarkSpyro always has at least 20 people online whenever I visit. We might sometimes get to five or ten here if we're lucky.

I just went to DS and saw...

There are 125 people online: 97 Guests and 28 Members (7 private).

Then came back here and saw...

Registered users online: 4
Guests online: 54

Eh, I left the dS forums a while ago due to the admin not properly doing his job and the wild children he allows to run amok. He thinks we can go and read his mind, which we can't and he doesn't have the sense to update his Forum Rules on certain topics that he prefers to keep to himself instead of letting the members know. Also, he allows the young children to get away with their behavior and leaves the moderators to do his grunt work. The only think the admin seems to care about his updating on news regarding the series.

In his defense, hasn't he been running the site since, like, 2005? I'm actually slightly impressed he still does anything at all with it, to be honest.

As for appointing a co-admin, it can't be easy to give someone complete control of your creation.

The only reason he's still continuing on with the site is because he's following Spyro into Skylanders. But if he had stuck solely on Spyro, then the forums would be at a stand-still and would likely die.

Although I visit fairly often, it's only to keep up with the latest Skylanders news/offers (from the fans, mind you). I'm not fond of some of the mods either (mostly because I don't personally see some of them as mature enough to handle the job).

A few of the mods weren't even on the forums long enough to know what they were doing. One of them, being too young, has even broken a few rules around the time he was appointed.
