Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
No because there's just no chance of it happening. Sorry.

Honestly, no. Spyro was fun. Doesn't mean it still would be.

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
Does it though? I feel that there's a perfect amount of classic Spyro that already exists and it doesn't need any more. I mean granted, I'm not as big of a fan of Spyro as most others here, but I'm that way with lots of stuff I like. You can only have so much of a good thing before it gets old.

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
Think about it this way: there's just no way they could do it right at this point and make everyone happy. If it's similar to the originals, but not exactly the same, and not developed by Insomniac, those fans will complain. If it's similar to LoS, but not exactly the same, those fans will complain. Even if it's completely perfect and both Legend and original fans are somehow happy, Skylanders fans will be mad that their series has gone in the trash.
This is all hypothetical, of course, because the fact is there just isn't a large enough fanbase for classic Spyro or LoS to justify abandoning a popular and successful franchise like Skylanders. It's not going to happen.

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
Okay, look. What if all of the Spyro characters returned, with a bit of a AAA twist to returning platforming. What if QuickTime events, like those in Uncharted, ended up being more dynamic and didn't simply focus on dodging enemies? What if swimming returned, but you can ride gunned-mantas whenever you find them? What if at least 2 Skylanders characters were involved, such as Flashwing and Whirlwind (the only two legit characters, IMO)? What if another story were introduced in which Malefor is trying to be freed from the center of the planet by another purple dragon, who, at the same time, has to deal with this golden dragon who's causing trouble back at his home? What if butterflies returned as potions? What if elements can be used like bullets? What if we could actually use a dark Spyro? What if a second dimension wa introduced? What if Hunter goes brought a lot of stuff that almost ultimately puts him to death? What if Elora returned, but looked SO FREAKING SEXY? What if we finally get a multiplayer mode, in which dragons aren't the only controllable characters (especially in single mode)? What if we get the type of flight freedom hat felt missing in TLoS: DotD? What if the new Spyro game ended up being a free-roam Spyro RPG?

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
I dunno, what if? It still won't happen, because there's no profit to be made from it.
Honestly, every single one of those ideas would end up *bleep*ing off some subsection of the community, because, since it's not identical, it's not going to live up to what they considered the glory days of Spyro. There's no benefit whatsoever to reviving the series.

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
It would be very welcome in my eyes, but it won't happen. Skylanders is too profitable for Activision. If they put Spyro in something else, it could distort the brand image they're trying to convey.
Stranger things have happened in the game industry, but consider this. Sony wasn't even able to get Spyro or Crash back for PS All-Stars. A one or two game deal like that would be much easier than starting up a new or rebooted franchise. A Crash reboot is definitely possible, though. There have been multiple hints at it.

I think that Skylanders can go without Spyro because he is just one playable character there and has no bigger role than any other character there.
Anyway I'd like a non-Skylanders Spyro game just out of curiosity. It would propably be no match for the originals but it would be fun to know what kind of game they would made

I don't see why do not try.
Why do people give up? There's no 'never', there's no 'no',
There's only Yes!

Maybe there isn't 'never,' or 'no,' but there is most certainly an 'unlikely.'
I'm not sorry if I offended you.

He means it's pointless to hope for one because there's no chance, but he still wants one.

Sure, I'd love one. But like others, I'm just not gonna bother hoping for one since I know there won't be one.

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
"know" / assume
though the way people talk about E3, it seems like developers like to give hints (meaning basically announcing something anyway) before the actual event, and there hasn't been anything like that on the Spyro front, though again that doesn't always mean anything.

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
Listen people - I know that Skylanders aren't the Spyro we know anymore, but at least it's still Spyro and the future generations will know "what is Spyro". Probably 70% of them will search up "Spyro" in the internet, and get a shot on one of the older Spyro games (probably classic Spyro too) and will know how did the REAL Spyro used to look like
Never ask what I'd do for a klondike bar. No one wants to go down that road.

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
What is this "real" Spyro some fans keep saying? It's not Insomniac Spyro is it?
I prefer just a Spyro game in general.
Well, yeah, actually.
And I have to say that, depending on which Spyro a developer decides to use in a new game, there's a certain set of elements that you'd need to put into that one game. For instance, if they decided to do TLoS Spyro, the game's going to need to focus on aftermath events that follow those of The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. No elements from outside the canon can be applied, because, to fans, it would be a reminder of bashing and stuff like that.
I have no idea what it'd be like to see a game involving all three Spyros. For all I know, making a game about Skylanders Spyro would basically mean another Skylanders game.

Skylanders is NOT a Spyro game. It's just an game that has Spyro as "special guest".

It's my opinion too. The game isn't really focused on Spyro, It's focused to kill that "Kaos" (I Think)

Re: Anyone Hoping for a NON-Skylanders Spyro game at E3?
King Lambda and Stormy are right it just won't happen. Good thought but won't.
As for Skylanders Spyro is one of the Skylanders most important members in that. But your right Skylanders is it's own series now.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
