Munitions Forge in Skylanders

Toys for Bob, who had played the past Spyro games for references, has now added Munitions Forge (a level back in the game The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning) into the Skylanders universe. The volcanic island is home to one of the new Fire Trap Masters, Ka-Boom in Skylanders: Trap Team.

"Ka-Boom hails from an ancient volcanic island known as Munitions Forge, where he and his people crafted machinery that was used all throughout Skylands. But the ruthless Captain Ironbeard wanted the forge for himself so he could build an unstoppable pirate armada. With a fleet of pirate ships approaching, Ka-Boom went to work, creating the greatest anti-pirate weapon ever forged – The Boom Cannon! When Ironbeard arrived with his invaders, Ka-Boom met them at the edge of the docks with his cannon lowered, still smoldering red hot from having just come out of the fire. One by one, he sank their ships until Captain Ironbeard finally retreated. Now as a valued member of the Trap Team, Ka-Boom uses his Red Hot Traptanium Cannon to blast evil in the broadsides!"

Makes me wonder what other areas from the past Spyro games they may add in.

i feel like Warfang (dragon city) could have had a bigger role in TLOS. it'd be interesting to see that used again.

AKA they don't feel like creating a new area, because that requires thought power, so they steal an already established one that will not only have already been made for them, but will also increase PR. Less work, more money. Activision.

Or Avalar (they mentioned the area Summer Forest in the first Skylanders novel, The Machine of Doom).

Maybe throw Dragon Shores in there. The rides and operators with the kids having a blast seems like a good place for Skylands.

I'm merely expressing my opinion. Plus, it just doesn't make sense to me to throw in places from completely different areas and say they're part of "Skylands."

A lot of previous Spyro games have done this. For example, "Avalar" was reused and turned into something completely different in both Shadow Legacy and TLoS.

but Stormy is right. there are a few references to classic Spyro in TLOS (Avalar, Hunter, Sparx eating the butterflies in the Ancient Grove...). all the better, i say. we should have *something* linking the series other than just Spyro.

More references may come but it depends. Anyway yeah they could take that and turn it into it's own thing for Skylands cause we can always go back and revisit Classic Spyro's areas.

That is true.

At least those were SPYRO games though. I just find it strange that Spyro is involved in the universe of Skylanders at all. He's a guest at best, and then has random references to his past games. His insertion into the franchise just befuddles me.

I think of it as a reference rather than "stealing."

As for Spyro's presence in Skylanders, please read this thread that I made yesterday. Spyro's inclusion in Skylanders gets brought up in almost every single Skylanders thread to the point that it gets disruptive. Even if it's related to the topic, there are better places to talk about it than Skylanders news discussion threads like this.

Um guys. Munitions Forge is from Legend of Spyro. Not the Classics. Also I'd like to point out that Activision did make/publish the Legend of Spyro series. So basically they're just recycling ideas from their past not stealing. Which I find to be okay. I mean the LoS was not very detailed on certain bits of it's lore.

Yeah. But I was also pointing some very important to those that were somewhat complaining. Soyro, sounds like a type a sushi.
