It's Not THAT Bad...

Sure, some cheap damage is there, but when we fail, Sparx says, "It's okay. We can just try again," almost to encourage us. Plus, when we fail, whatever enemies we defeated in the previous try will stay defeated, a feature that's not in any Naughty Dog game.

Re: It's Not THAT Bad...

Although I never liked TLoS very much anyway, ANB was definitely the least bad of all of them. I did actually enjoy playing it.

TEN just had way too many enemies. And DotD... yeah.

Re: It's Not THAT Bad...

these days i like the TLOS series in theory, but the darker atmosphere (particularly the first 2) just seems a little... overbearing, at least for me. to the point it hinders my enjoyment of the games sometimes.

and the gameplay gets a little repetitive, but i can overlook that (except in Concurrent Skies - they went completely over the top there) the overall atmosphere is what really drags it down for me, though.

Was the Legend of Spyro series as far apart from the originals like Crash of the Titans/Mind Over Mutant was to Crash? Or was this series closer to Spyro's roots?

Platforming was cut out the focus for the entire game. I would say that it's a completely different style, but one I now respect.

Re: It's Not THAT Bad...

I remember buying this game ages ago for my Play Station 2 (Which I still have to this very day) and this game wasn't that bad but it definitely wasn't the best Spyro game. At the end of the day we all have our own opinions! This game wasn't that bad however, I did struggle with it. It got a little bit hard!
