Unable to acquire dragon egg in Molten Mount

The egg I am trying to acquire is the sgt byrd one on Molten Mount. For some reason I have not got the egg for completed the challenge even though I have the light gem. Any ideas to help me? neutral sad

Note: I have done the challenge and I am using PCSX2 (The emulator is not the problem!)

Actually, the emulator may as well be the problem. You're using a pirated version of the game, after all. The game seems to take vengeance on pirates, considering that Spyro 3 officially does THE SAME THING.

I just tested the OP's part on the latest version of PCSX2 and it runs fine for me.

This is just a completely crazy, wild guess, but could it have something to do with the emulator save states? I know you can "save" your game where you normally couldn't using an emulator, so maybe that caused a conflict somehow? I dunno, it's probably not that, but that was my first thought and I have no other theories. Hope you figure something out, though.

I've actually seen this happen before on a video. Apparently it's a glitch where if you quickly skip the dialogue after getting the egg, you can start the Light Gem challenge before the egg counter counts up and you lose the egg. I'm not entirely sure, but if it is this glitch, you have to restart your entire save.

Thanks, it might be the dialogue or the savestates glitching up. I still believe I have 100% the game, even though the game doesn't agree. I'll face red and watch the alternative ending on youtube. hmm

i'd recommend that. the alternate ending in A Hero's Tail is SO not worth getting 100% in the game or playing around with savestates for. xD

yeah. hmm

i'm very happy that, for some reason, i cheated on it the very first time i ever played through it and unlocked that ending right from the beginning... if i expected some great ending after going through this game, i would have been so angry.

It gave me 80/80 after beating Mech-Red!!! Let me see full ending, in 'HD'! #100%!!! big_smile cool

Huh, interesting! Maybe you technically had the egg all along and the counter was just glitching for some reason.
