Does anyone still wish for another Spyro game?

Look, I know the rules of publisher/quality control and why Spyro's parent company is not giving him a proper game anytime soon, but does anyone still want a Spyro game?

I do. A lot actually. I know it's not likely, but one can dream right? tongue

Re: Does anyone still wish for another Spyro game?

yes.

i'd really prefer if they kept things as close as possible to the first 4, but i could live if they changed things a bit. i always mention the graphics in discussions like this - i'd really like if they just kept the old PS1 graphics, but i lived when they changed them for ETD, i could handle it again. and i'd like the gameplay to be really, really similar to the first 4, but if they change things, i'd probably be okay with it. (as long as it wasn't another AHT)

basically the only thing it'd have to have is compatibility on a system i own - the most recent i have is a PS2. and a DS, but that's not technically mine.

Not really. I'm kind of over it. I mean, I'd play it if it came out, and it might be a fun revisit to my childhood and teen years if it was good, but I'm not actively wishing for it to happen and probably wouldn't even be that excited if it did.

I agree with this a lot! And while I don't like AHT as much as the PS1 games, I still think it has a very nice world and an enjoyable graphics style. I don't like Spyro himself there that much, though or what they did to Moneybags, Sgt. Byrd and Bentley.

Well, I can hope and dream. Not sure how far that will go though.

I might as well throw in Crash Bandicoot for extra credit. What do you think, guys? Should it happen?

i've never played a Crash game, outside of the ones in the Spyro demos. but it would be nice for those who are fans of it.

Gosh, yes!

But I think my planned spiritual successor to Spyro is more likely in all honesty.

Yep smile I'm hoping that in 1-2 years, it would happen.

Yeah I definitely would like another Spyro game, but from the original or Legend of series, not Skylanders.

Re: Does anyone still wish for another Spyro game?

Of course! How could I not wish for one? I wouldn't mind whether it was another TLoS game or an original, either one is good to me! big_smile I like the original kind of game style, but if you're trying to beat it 100% the game can get rather boring, mainly because if you can't find all the gems in a level quick enough going through the level and looking in every corner can get very tedious. I honestly don't mind what kind of graphics the game has or what character style the characters would have, as long as Spyro doesn't look like a gremlin, lol.

Re: Does anyone still wish for another Spyro game?

Yes. But my criteria is quite strict because, well, we should be strict. We don't want another Skylanders (in my opinion). In this theoretical Spyro game, it should go back to its roots. Exploration based gameplay. Tasks, collecting and platforming. It's a fun combination. And it still could be successful in today's market. Look at the popularity of Yooka-Laylee's kickstarter, for example. People want to play more games like Spyro, Banjo, Ape Escape etc. It's just a matter of developers remembering that.
