Best Flight Level Times.

I know that there are a few topics like this already but I didn't want to bump any other topics.

These are my best flight level times:

Sunny Flight: 1:08.68

Night Flight: 56.16

Crystal Flight: 50.60

Wild Flight: 44.64

Icy Flight: 45.72

Hidden text

And here's the proof:

IMG_20150422_142807.jpg

What are your best flight level times?

Hidden text

Edit: Sorry, I accidentally created 2 copies of this topic. Please could a moderator or an administrator delete them, because I don't know how to.

Another Edit: Oh, for crying out loud. Apparently I forgot more than the .jpg when I tried to attach the photograph. How do I make it viewable?

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

Hi, welcome! I took care of the extra topics. As for the image, we don't currently have a way to host attachments on this forum, but you can upload to a hosting site like Imgur and use the img code like this to make it show up:

I could've sworn we had done a best time contest on this forum for at least one of the Spyro 1 flight levels, but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe it's time to do one.

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

If you're interested in the fastest flight times and submitting your own flight times to a leaderboard, you should check out http://www.speedrun.com/spyro1/individual_levels. There's also a large and active Spyro speedrunning community on Twitch.tv. You can find almost all of those runners on http://www.speedrun.com/spyro

Cool! How do you submit a time? I'd like to do it sometime when my college work lets up.

OK, thanks for letting me know that I can't directly attach photographs, but I don't want to create an imgur account for the time being, and I uploaded my Icy Flight time to Cyberscore, so here's the link to the proof:

http://www.cyberscore.me.UK/proofs/25008/1172719.jpg

I think that this may be a world record.

(I spend most of my internet time on my tablet, and to look at the Cyberscore version of my photograph on it, I have to download it by clicking on it, so to anybody who wants to see the proof of my time on a tablet, I'm just letting you know.)

Also, why isn't anybody else putting their own times on here?

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

You can still upload without making an account. smile

I haven't posted mine yet because I'm in the middle of moving and don't have access to my game/memory card right now. Mine probably wouldn't be that impressive, though.

In the top right corner, you should be able to make an account. Once you have an account, read through the rules, provide enough proof of your time (it depends on your ranking how much proof you need). That's it. Then a moderator will verfiy your time and you'll be on the leaderboards.

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

I've spent some time collecting Icy Flight times from the internet in my head, and here is the chart that I've created:

1. Morgan: 45.88 (PAL)
2. Touval: 48.93
3. Megamegalomane92: 49.88
4. Jumpyluff: 49.98
5. Luis Parson: 50.38
6. Lapogne36: 50.40 (PAL)
7. Caitelady: 50.86
8. Ratchet5: 51.30
9. FrozenPhoenix95: 51.38
10. Ikkatosh23: 52.08 (PAL)
11. MrRobTer12: 52.24 (PAL)
12. Daxter: 52.70
13. Spyro2980: 53.81

All times without (PAL) next to them are NTSC, because that version seems to be much more popular for all types of speedruns in this game.

I feel like such an idiot for taking over a month to realise that my tablet autocorrected speedrun to 2 words.

Morgan, would you submit your time to speedrun.com? In the future, if it's possible for you to do so, you should record your gameplay. If enough people are on the leaderboards, the requirements of proof become more strict. But I can see from the picture you provided that your time is legit. You must be able to get better cycles on PAL because they vary from the NTSC version of the game. Have you watched any speedruns on Twitch or anything? I'd like you to get involved in the community. The leaderboards on speedrun.com are the best out there right now and if I can contact others who have set times that are yet to be on the boards, we could have a great place to have comparisons.

I hope that you have a capture card, but if you don't I can definitely recommend some to you so capturing/recording gameplay is possible for you.

I found the route by myself, although I do sometimes spontaneously watch Youtube videos that have been uploaded from Twitch.

Do you think Speedrun.com would accept tablet footage of me going into Icy Flight and showing the time?

Unfortunately since it's in the top 50% of times, it requires video proof.

I assume you don't have a capture card then?

I still recommend checking out live streams on Twitch, even VODs from Twitch. There's a lot on there that YouTube wouldn't have. The community is really friendly and it'd be nice to have more people get into it.

Edit: I'm also eager to see what route you use because I'm assuming it's PAL exclusive.

1. By video proof, do you mean screen capture?

2. Would they only accept footage of an actual run?

3. If I need footage, then why does Luis Parson only have a photograph when he's second?

4. My route is a secret, however, it requires some good reaction times and hitting objects with the edge of the flame hitbox.

Also, why isn't anybody responding to my other topic? (Twilight Harbour Challenge.)

1. Yes, screen capture using a capture card.

2. Yes.

3. Luis Parson isn't on the speedrun.com leaderboards. If there's a way to contact him, maybe he could get on the leaderboards too. But providing sufficient evidence is a must.

4. I don't have a clue why you'd keep a route secret when it's very likely only runners on PAL would be able to do it, and there are very few PAL runners, most of which don't do IL time attacks.

I'm talking about the person on Speedrun.com called Luis. I call him by his first and last name because Luis Parson is his YouTube name.

I'll have to give up my route anyway when I eventually upload a time to Speedrun.com, so you'll find out my route then.

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

Ah right, I see Luis on the speedrun.com leaderboards now. I'm not sure if he submitted those times himself. They may have been on the leaderboards before the "official rules" were made. So basically it's grandfathered in.

Woud you ever be interested in doing full speedruns of the Spyro games? If you're already great at the flights, it could be a good base for getting started.

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

I've got my time down to 47.12, and I think I'm ready to get a capture device and record my first run of under 47 seconds.

I originally said 54.12. What was going through my mind to confuse me into writing 54 instead of 47, I'll never know.

there used to be a way to host images here, but there isn't since the forum was redone awhile back. now you have to upload them somewhere else.

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

Today, I got 52.12 on Wild Flight. Remember that I have the PAL version.

Here's the proof:

http://cyberscore.me.uk/proofs/25008/1184706.jpg

If you're using a tablet, then remember that you'll need to download the picture.

Edit: My time is now 49.80.

Another edit: My time is now 48.96. I've already beaten that time, but I'm not going to upload proof of it until my current time on CyberScore has been approved.

Re: Best Flight Level Times.

Here's 3 proofs at once.

Crystal Flight:

http://cyberscore.me.uk/proofs/25008/1188344.jpg

Night Flight:

http://cyberscore.me.uk/proofs/25008/1188345.jpg

Sunny Flight:

http://cyberscore.me.uk/proofs/25008/1188346.jpg

And with that, I now hold all 5 of the Spyro 1 PAL records on Cyberscore.

Remember that you'll have to download them if you're using a tablet.
