Re: Spyro Amiibo
If any skylanders are going to be amiibos, it won't be classic spyro, it'll be skylanders spyro. Classic spyro hasn't seen the light of day since the mid 2000s, he won't be seeing it now, with this. Also, that letter is the saddest I've ever seen. Spyro wasn't even spelled correctly.
I'm not sorry if I offended you.

Re: Spyro Amiibo
I would love to see a Spyro amiibo, but only if it's original Spyro.
I have changed my username from Justin Long Fanatic to EricChristianOlsenFanatic, so Justin Long Fanatic is my old name on this site, and EricChristianOlsenFanatic is my new one.

Re: Spyro Amiibo
If anyone is skeptical in a level headed way, hear my out and I would love to hear your feedback. Here's my points:
Hammer Slam Bowser Turbo Charge Donkey Kong
1) Bowser and DK are coming to Skylanders, there is a brand new Amiibo/Skylander toy that has been made just to facilitate this.
Spyro is the most well known and central skylander, if any are. So if these hybrid toys to life exists, and a skylander was made into one IT WOULD BE SPYRO before any other.
I think these are pretty effortless leaps in thinking this out, so I will move along...
2) Now, what would a Spyro Amiibo DO in Nintendo? If he's going to be made, he's likely going to be in Smash. It's Nintendo's equivalent to Bowser romping around with the Skylanders in Skylanders.
If he is put into Smash, Sakurai will go with his classic design because:
A. He favors classic designs, see Mega Man, Pac Man, and even Mario(SMB fireballs, SMW Cape).
B. There IS a large fan base, not only for the classic Spyro, but also Legend of Spyro, and these models are pretty close to one another. This means fans of either series are going to be quite compelled to buy the character that was (and continues to be through Skylanders) a gaming icon for 17 years. The greater of which was as this character.
C. Yes I want this, Spyro in Smash Bros, With his own stage with remixed music by Stewart Copeland while hes still able to do it, Spyro's own Amiibo, which he can use in Skylanders with bonus levels based on the classic games. Yes I want this, but I am not the only one.

Re: Spyro Amiibo
Gameboy, while I think we can all agree that it'd be pretty cool, it's not going to happen. And if it did, they'd pick Skylanders Spyro. Do you know why they picked the classic design for Mega Man? Not just because it was the "classic," but because it was the most recognizable, therefore people see it, recognize it, and want to throw money at it. Who's the most recognizable Spyro today? Skylanders Spyro. Therefore, of course they'd pick that one. Also, the designs of Pac-Man and Mario are kinda bad examples, as Pac-Man and Mario have really only had those designs. They've never really changed. But this is irrelevant, because the chances of Spyro's inclusion in the game are extremely slim. I mean, the only newcomer DLC so far has been Ryu, and his inclusion makes sense. But Spyro has always been on Playstation, until Skylanders, where he was on every console, but not quite the main focus of the series. Bowser and DK as Skylanders makes sense, because Skylanders is a kid's game that doesn't really concern the concepts of balance in the game. They just kinda introduce new characters whenever they want regardless of how well they fit. Smash, while open for all audiences, also concerns a competitive audience, so much more work goes into creating a character, hence why Nintendo is so picky about third-party characters in Smash. What are the upsides of putting a third-party character in Smash? That gives no advertisement to your own games. The only reason to is to fulfill what fans want, hence the ballot. A poll similar to the ballot found Spyro to be extremely low on the list of wanted Smash characters, so that couldn't be it. Another reason could be that they were paid by the developer, but I've never heard of this happening.
I'm not sorry if I offended you.

Re: Spyro Amiibo
Sorry, but yeah, all of what Flapjacks said, plus:
1. Spyro is already a character in Skylanders. Adding classic Spyro would mean there would have to be two Spyros... which doesn't really make any sense. (And yes I know there was that one Sonic game, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea or makes sense. )
2. Didn't DK and Bowser get added partially because they're some of the less popular amiibos?
3. Online petitions never do anything.
There's just no way it would happen. Mostly because not enough people care about Spyro anymore.
(Also, I'm moving this to Spyro Chat.)

Re: Spyro Amiibo
Who's the most recognizable Spyro today? Skylanders Spyro.
I'd argue that this is only *technically* correct. Yes, kids know Skylanders, but hardly anyone who plays these games other than people here and on DarkSpyro care about Skylanders Spyro. My entire age group 19 year olds and people within probably a 10 year radius both ways would recognise the Classic 2-3 Spyro better than the others.

I don't think this is correct, honestly.
It might seem correct due to the mass agreement between fans of the series that the classic Spyro is more recognizable, however this is to the extreme minority of fans of the series. I think if we pooled all of Smash's audience together, they would most recognize Skylanders Spyro, because that Spyro has been open to the Nintendo audience, whereas classic Spyro was only ever open to the Playstation audience, apart from the GBA games, but as far as I know, not many people played those. Classic Spyro hasn't seen the light of day in ten years, while Skylanders has been big in general media for several years now. I can't say I'm a fan of the series, but I am observant enough to realize its fame among the masses.

Re: Spyro Amiibo
We also have to keep in mind that Skylanders could use some help from Nintendo to stand out against Disney Infinity, hence why you see Nintendo characters getting added to Skylanders. Does Nintendo need any help from Skylanders? Absolutely not.

Re: Spyro Amiibo
Could it happen yeah? Spyro would fit right Super Smash Bros. It would be classic Spyro and he could use his flame, ram, and flight moves as specials as well as incorporate moves based of what he do for Up,Forward, and Down Tilts. Plus Up, Side, and Down Smashes. And aerials. The Amiibo would look cool. But I doubt it would happen. Like everyone said it would be Skylanders Spyro if this were to happen.
