Re: Introductions
Well, as a few probably noticed, I started posting again. Yes, I'm back, nobody didn't honestly miss me anyway, I'm still a shut-in, life's still unfair. Nothing changed.
Never ask what I'd do for a klondike bar. No one wants to go down that road.

Re: Introductions
Hello everyone! You can call me Zuri. The only Spyro game I have ever played was Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, when I was a child. Yeah, I know, the only game I've ever played was the janky one Anyway, every since then I've followed the Spyro games via the Internet, and know about most of the games and their history. I'm glad I found a forum where I can share my appreciation for the games with people who hold similar sentiments. This franchise got me into video games, dragons and collectathons. I can't wait to meet everyone and get familiar with this forum. Once I'm not under my parents' thumbs anymore I plan to own, or at least emulate, most of the Spyro games. Ciao, and thanks for reading.

Re: Introductions
Welcome StarrodKirby and Zuri!
You should definitely try to get your hands on the original trilogy since you haven't played them yet.

Re: Introductions
Ah gotcha, that's understandable.
I would say start with the first game. Spyro 2 and 3 are improvements to the formula for sure, but I enjoyed the atmosphere and music of the original the most. Everyone has a different opinions of course, but it makes sense to start with the first in my mind.
FYI you can get them digitally on PS3 for pretty cheap, so that's a good route if you're planning to get into more video games once you become more independent.

Re: Introductions
so like, what's going on with darkSpyro anyway? are we still "at war" with them from that drama in like 2009 or whenever, or...?

Re: Introductions
Greetings.
While I am new to this community I am not so to the Spyro franchise.
I played all three of the original Playstation versions (in order) several years ago, probably starting sometime in middle school (and I just turned 29, holy crap). It was partly a shared effort with my best friend as was most if not all PS games I played back in the day.
I came upon this community while re-acquainting myself with the franchise via a new playthrough of Ripto's Rage.
Neither of my best friend or I ever managed to defeat Ripto himself in the original playthrough but after a few minutes of exploring the old file I opted to start over because my memory was a blank slate.
I'm hoping to obtain the ability to possess the permanent superflame throughout the entire game so I'm in the process of completing this file a lot more than the original by not leaving a realm without finishing it, with the exception of Glimmer and Sunny Beach because it wasn't until after my first visit to both of them that I learned of the cheat to unlock all of the Moneybags taught abilities.
Currently I am in what I believe to be my final realm in Autumn Plains excluding the speedways, Skelos Badlands and having trouble with Lava Lizards 2.
I'm planning to also start anew in Year of the Dragon which is actually my favorite due to the two other playable characters and more elaborate worlds. Plus I had a ball with the Hunter skateboarding mini challenges.
Though now I have a lot more appreciation for Ripto's rage than I did all those years ago. I'm intrigued by Breeze Harbor and Zephyr, that Spyro helped them both while they were at war with each other. I'm curious as to what either realm's reaction would've been if they'd found out that Spyro also helped out their foes.
I also tried what I believe was the first version made for the Playstation 2, Enter the Dragonfly but ended up stuck in the first home world because the requirement to move on was to visit each realm at least once but even with several laps around the place couldn't find any I hadn't visited. I don't recall being too impressed with it anyway.
So that's my Spyro history. I'm looking forward to checking out the Year of the Dragon forum once I start playing it again.

Re: Introductions
