Vertex Painting
I've recently started vertex painting Spyro geometry, and I thought people here might be interested. I loved Spyro as a kid, and still do to this day. One of the most remarkable aspects of the game to me was how the artists used colors in making these beautiful levels.
I have the skyboxes setup and working properly in 3ds max, thanks to the world viewer I was able to get the models and vertex colors to load, and a few welds made them perfect. I have a couple ideas to make some levels, but for now I just want to mess around with colors. If anybody's interested, I'll post a download to the models for anyone who wants them to start their own projects with.
I gave it a try, still learning how to do this.

Glad you think so.
I also figured out how to project the vertex colors onto another model. With this, I can have the original level geometry with the great colors to go along with it. Hopefully soon I can start on making a level.

Re: Vertex Painting
i'm not all that tech-savvy so the technical terms are honestly confusing me a bit, but i'll say that it looks cool so far.

Thanks. I should write up a tutorial for this. 3DS max is expensive (unless you're a student), I need to learn Blender so I can write a tutorial for that. I'd love to see more people creating stuff with this.

Re: Vertex Painting
That's really cool, wish I knew how to do that.
I have changed my username from Justin Long Fanatic to EricChristianOlsenFanatic, so Justin Long Fanatic is my old name on this site, and EricChristianOlsenFanatic is my new one.
