Spyro to appear in upcoming Skylanders tv show

I actually like the show graphics in the screenshots as well. No word on the show production status, but the show will air on Netflix in the Fall.

look, guys, i know we're tall tired of the Skylanders bashing, but seriously look at this:

THIS IS SO UGLY. i mean, sure, the animation itself looks fantastic. there's a ton of detail here and that much looks really nice. i'm not bashing the animators at all. quite the contrary. but they can only work with what they're given, and Spyro's mouth looks scrunched to the point of repulsion, his chin... what?? and just the overall look on his face, like from the very beginning of Skylanders it's like they've been actively trying to make Spyro look clueless, why are they doing that? and in this screenshot he looks like like he's like 5 years old or something:

look at that facial structure, what's even going on here? how young of a target demographic are they going for, 0-3? and while we're at it, why is he sitting at a desk? now, yes, i know the obvious answer which is "because the show is called Skylanders Academy" but seriously guys, why did anyone think it was a good idea to put Spyro in school? this is a character known for running around in different environments and battling supervillains, not going to school. "reboot" isn't an excuse, this is a clearly established character they're using, this is the equivalent of putting Rolie Polie Olie into a Halo game, but without the ironic humor that would come from it.

All they'd really have to do to make him less weird looking IMO is make the snout longer. Someone with Photoshop skills please do it and prove me right/wrong.

As for the school thing, yeah, it's a common kids' show gimmick, but, well, it is a kids' show. We, adults, aren't the target demographic and we have to accept that. This is why I'm no longer attached to Spyro as a brand/series and haven't been since Skylanders was announced - it's not for me anymore, and I'm okay with that. (Not saying you're not accepting it; you're obviously allowed to be unhappy about it, etc; just speaking in general. I personally don't see any reason to care anymore.)

And we don't know for sure that the setting will be bad yet. I'm not even saying "watch it and give it a chance," because I'm probably not going to go out of my way to, but I'd wait for reviews at least before assuming it'll be a total disaster.

According to the summary, Spyro and the other Skylanders are learning to become heroes while fighting Kaos on a daily basis. The series is not connected to the games. It's going to be available only on Netflix.

i didn't do it for attention Aura that was a really baseless assumption of you to make and i don't really appreciate it, i did it to express my opinions which people can do, maybe i'm just impatient today but i'm really getting tired after how many years of Skylanders existing, you acting as if people who vocalize negative opinions about it are automatically immature / in the wrong

edit: Story, i did some quick editing to that image and i think you have a point. i made his snout longer, and made his cheeks a bit smaller.

I apologize for my baseless assumption, I just got a little annoyed with the renewed fanbase negativity since Crash was added in Skylanders.

Ehh... the edit made Spyro look derpy now pff, not cute anymore to me X3

tbh i never liked what they did to spyro in skylanders....basically just used him as a marketing decoy, then when it got good they just brushed him off like it ment absolutely nothing, and on day 1 of skylanders i never liked his art, sure its good quality but why did they make him small and young again? he was like that for almost 8yrs before they finally made dawn of the dragon and finally made him a teenager

Its a kids show like Lion guard is a kid knockoff of the Lion King. I'd much rather them stop milking skylanders and actually give spyro his own game again.

I'd watch it if it was a bit more grown-up like Regular Show, Simpsons (They have adult jokes in there) or things like that. I'd also want it to be a cartoon and not 3D, as well as the cartoon having a Castle Crashers style to it. But thats just my opinion anyways smile
