How can I get this specific sound?

Any ideas on how can I get the sound effect of Nancy scream in good quality? (Spyro: Year of the dragon - Icy Peak)

uh... shoot.

here is a folder of various sound effects from Spyro 3, but i honestly don't know if that one would be in there - it's a pretty big folder. you could check it out, though - most of the files seem to have proper "names", so it should be pretty easy to narrow down.

You could aslo try to rip it off the CD using PSound http://snailrush.online.fr/ With this you can rip many sounds and even some music from ps1 games. The only problem is that there are usually hundreds of sounds without any recognisable name. Also, all the sounds have differend frequency, so you have to try various ones for various sounds.

Thanks, I'm checking it out sound by sound (but there are plenty indeed, 1002 sounds)

Thanks for the input, I was wondering something, is there a demo of the game that contains few maps or something? (obviously containing Icy Peak), because back then in my childhood I recall I had a PS1 with a CD containing demos from various game, Spyro being there, and it had only Icy Peak, is there a way to obtain it?

do you remember any of the other games / levels that were on the disc?

Hmm, might've been a custom made demo, it contained other games too

I'm pretty sure that Spyro demo only contained Icy peak, I can't remember all of the other demos, I remember this ones: (I'll edit it as I remember more)
101 dalmatians, Mat Hoffman's pro BMX, a snowboard game (don't know which one),

I'm not completely sure (because it doesn't contain the BMX game), but upon some google search, it may be the "Interactive Sampler CD Volume 10", I kinda doubt it because it doesn't have the BMX game that I recall

The only demo I remember was one having skatepark from sunny villa, molten crater and seashell shore. I remember they fixed few bugs in the full release since the demos.

the easiest way would probably be to run the game in an emulator, turn off the music, and record it, but you might get a bit of the initial impact sound in there as well, so another option would be better if possible.

But keep in mind that PS1 SFX were always higher pitched than they appeared in game for memory reasons so you'll have to shift it down a few octaves.

Ah ok that's good then. Usually they don't bother fixing them up.
