Favorite Non-Copeland Spyro Music?

Cloudy Domain is amazing, both the level and the theme.

I thought Ryan Beveridge composed Fireworks Factory?

Re: Favorite Non-Copeland Spyro Music?

Ryan was a co-composer for Spyro 3 though. Unless I just goofed up my reply, I was trying to ask what non-Spyro 1-4 game's music was their favorite.

Re: Favorite Non-Copeland Spyro Music?

My favorites are Crocodile Swamp from AHT:

I don't know what it is about this one, but the AHT soundtrack is very repetitive and themed, but I feel like this level had the best combination of overall game theme while maintaining a good fell for the level itself.  I liked Cloudy Domain as well.

Burned Lands Part 2 from LoS:DotD

This is the most emotional song in any Spyro game, and I challenge you to change my mind.  This level happens right after a tragic event and really sets the tone for the rest of the game.  You could feel the loss, the helplessness in the music.  The idea that things might not matter and hope just died.  It is powerful.  LoS was an excellent, provided the player was imersed in the story and characters.

And Sky Schooner Docks from S:SA

Up for debate whether or not its a Spyro game.  Agreeing that it is, its hard to not include the audio genius of Hans Zimmer.  The complexity of the music while maintain balance is something that I' hoping we see more of in the Reignited Trilogy.  It's a big challenge to remaster old ps1 audio files to complex themes that explode the theme properly, while still maintaining a good balance.

i would agree with that. i played some AHT recently and noticed the soundtrack is INSANELY repetitive. but Crocowhateverit'scalled has a ton of variation which keeps it interesting. it's also lively and "bright" but not excessively so like some of the songs in the game. i will probably end up listening to this entire video. edit: by the way, welcome back riverhippo, you probably remember me as one of the antagonistic, anti-MLP people on here when you were more active, i'm a brony now.

as for my favorite songs? .......... i'm actually kind of confused about this, and i'm hoping someone can explain it for me. in Convexity on the console version of ANB, i SWEAR i hear music in with the sound effects. some kind of really weird, distorted choir sounds, maybe with a couple string sounds? like 6:41 - 7:05 here. yet: it doesn't play when i go to the music options in the game, AND in every soundtrack thing i've found online, i just get a generic orchestral song.

My guess is that it's just the background ambience of the level, not music, so it wouldn't really be part of the soundtrack.

Brony huh?  I'm sorry I don't really remember you, it's been a long time.  As for the MLP thing, look, I'm just a fan of cute little quadraped characters.

Those sounds are pretty trippy, almost like it belongs to a haunted house themed homeworld in Avalar.

Re: Favorite Non-Copeland Spyro Music?

Man, I forgot how eccentric some of the music in AHT was, and Crocovile Swamp was a really good one. Hero's Tail also has that whole reused melody thing going on throughout the whole soundtrack which is cool, but I agree it can get repetitive

Dragonfly Falls is pretty good

And for how simple a song this is, it's also very memorable to me. Tall Plains is one of the only levels that I remember really well from the Legend series because of the music, art, and ecosystem. The song reminds me a bit of Okami
