New Orb Challenges in Spyro 2!?
From Game Informer's magazine:
Notice the end of this paragraph. "New Orb Challenges."
Looks like they will be adding some content after all.

so we ARE getting new content, nice! i wonder what these challenges will be, though? i thought the original Spyro 2 pretty much had that sorted out. will they add orb challenges in addition to the existing ones, or will they replace some of the old ones, i wonder?

I certainly hope they don't replace any existing challenges. I don't mind additions, but replacements aren't something I'd be down with.

Sweet to the people getting it that'll encourage them to try the new content, and because the orbs are important to Spyro: Ripto's Rage story they'll. Become more important.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Yeah, that was just a rumor. 
But it would be nice since it honestly doesn't make sense to name your 3 home wolrds after the seasons.

Well, sad. 
And their explanation of why they didn't plan for it wasn't very satisfying either. I guess there must not have been anyone working on the games who had OCD. The names have always been kinda irritating.

From what I've gathered Insomniac confirmed that to be a rumor. There was never a Spring themed homeworld.
I don't know if it's official or not but it's believed that Year of the Dragon's Sunrise Spring was meant to fill that missing representation.
Doesn't mean one can't still be added though.
