Re: STONE HILL - GAMEPLAY RELEASED!!!!
Overall I'm pretty impressed with how faithful it is to the original. The sound effects could use some work and the shepards(which I think are *bleep*ing spot on with regards to their design and animation) are too easy to charge and there's a few other nitpicky things but it looks like a work in progress so all that could change.
Here's a comparison video:
Even the positions of the enemies and fodder and chests and stuff are accurate and I'm happy that they're paying attention to things like that.

oh, wow, that looks awesome! i agree with Twingo, it's really cool to see they're staying SO CLOSE to the originals.
one thing though - could the shepherds be charged in the originals? i didn't think they could.

They could, but rather than just charging through them like in this one, spyro would get some kickback recoil like he does when charging a wall.

so i just tried this. i NEVER knew you could do this, so that's interesting!
what's really interesting though, is i tried the same thing with the shepherds in Toasty, and i could charge right through them. but just to be sure, i tried again in Stone Hill, and nope, you get the recoil when you charge them. odd.

What's even more interesting is that I never knew that! I thought the ones in Toasty were the same as the ones in Stone Hill.
Actually, I think we just solved the problem of why these shepherds can be continually charged through like that. I figure that'll be a common complaint in OG fan circles, but if there's an inconsistency in the originals, then it makes sense for the devs of the remaster to blend the same hit registers for the same enemy type. And considering Toys For Bob already came out and said that they started development of the game on Toasty, it makes sense now why the shepherds in Stone Hill have the same response patterns as those in Toasty.

Re: STONE HILL - GAMEPLAY RELEASED!!!!
I've watched several people's analysis videos of this clip and no one else seems to have noticed what I have. Sparx doesn't collect any of the gems and just statically follows around after Spyro while the gems suck into him. As first I thought I was crazy, but when looking back at original gameplay, Sparx DOES pick up the gems. I hope they plan to add it because it felt odd watching it. Otherwise, I love how everything looks and sounds.

are you sure? around 00:06-00:07, it looks like Sparx picks up that blue gem.

Yay! You're right! I had to play and pause it repeatedly to notice, but he does appear to pick it up at 0:06, along with the green gems behind the shepherds at the beginning and near the end of the clip. I guess the ones popping out of the chests threw me off because he doesn't go for those ones and I thought he collected all gems in the original game. Thanks for catching that for me. I'm actually happy to be wrong, lol.

I really like his stuff too. I've actually been subscribed for a while. I pretty much rely on him now for the latest Spyro news, because even though I follow all the official Facebook and Twitter things, I still miss stuff.

Re: STONE HILL - GAMEPLAY RELEASED!!!!
Jordan Fringe right? Yeah man he has been so on point with everything lately. Thanks to him and Tealgamemaster I've been up to date with all Spyro news. Guy's channel and updates are great and I enjoy his content plus his enthusiasm for Spyro is just like ours so if you're not subscribed I'd highly recommend it.
Footage is great too. Sherpa the sheep herders everything.

Re: STONE HILL - GAMEPLAY RELEASED!!!!
I think Jordan Fringe is too overhyped by his fanbase (constant mentioning on social media and praise) to draw me in any interest in his channel...

Re: STONE HILL - GAMEPLAY RELEASED!!!!
Hey, just stating my opinion. Fans CAN overhype a youtuber and turn potential watchers away. *shrugs*
Lol, yeah, I understand. Just messin' with ya. I think a fair number of big time YouTubers are overrated. Jordan's just the best Spyro Tuber for keeping up with the latest news and updates regarding the Reignited Trilogy IMO.
