Just be sure to check your outrage meter. There are games that have cheap micro-trans tricks that don't ruin the experience at all. It bothers me that because a there are some games that really abused micro-transactions that means ALL MICRO-TRANSACTIONS ARE BAD. There are several games that have short-cut time savers that don't intrude on the gamer's experience very much at all, and as a result, (provided its a quality game) sells well and is received well.

Especially considering it's really all about how our gamer journalists are wanting to draw attention. Don't be outraged because of an accusatory headline of an article on Kotaku. Be outraged because you saw the facts and details of something and you truly disapprove of.

I'm not in defense of potential micro-transactions in a Spyro game, I just understand the reality of the industry. One of the reasons why the 3D platformer/collect-a-thon game genre hasn't been around as much is because of lack of ways to profit from the game model. It became a risky investment for publishers. I'm willing to give way to possible alternative monetization of the franchise provided it's done ethically and doesn't intrude on the overall experience of what we expect and gives us more colorful adventures involving dragons, rhynocs, and magic that captures my imagination and love for these cartoon characters. That's all I want.

I do hope it sells and does well. It and Spider-Man that's being worked by Insomniac games, and looks solid, and fluid hope, both games sell millions. And do well.

I feel ok with DLC as long as they spend time on quality ... I have seen games with half-effort DLC (Fallout 4, Payday 2) but I hope it goes well if they choose to create it

Yeah I know, I meant I hope TfB/Activision does it with Spyro as well. tongue New Spyro levels would be awesome.

Oh ok my bad. While that would definitely be cool, I really doubt it would happen since a lot more would go into making a Spyro level than Crash. I would think they would save their creative mojo for a future game.
