Not allowed to post links?

I created an account not long ago and I wanted to make a thread for my spyro marathon stream, but I got an error saying I'm not allowed to post links. Is this only allowed for members that have been here for a certain amount of time? I've only just registered, so I'm guessing it's not a ban restriction or anything. Or is this just disable site-wide at the moment?

welcome! accounts are automatically restricted from posting links (and i think images?) until they reach 10 posts. it's something we did awhile back to deter spam bots.

Yep, 36 is right. It's annoying, I know, but it helps deter bots, trolls, and users who only register for self-promotion. You'll automatically be promoted from "New Member" to "Member" at 10 posts.
