The thing is, some people were attracted to spyro by the old games, and some people were attracted to him by the new ones.

Usually, the first spyro game they play will determine who spyro is for them.

Un;ess you like me, I enjoy the new games more than the old ones. Olny resion? I like his nose, block shapes are attractive to me!

But really, in the new Spyro's it feels like your working toward something. Some greater goal than "Collect all the gems in the whole game to open this stupid door so you can collect some more stuped, ****ed gems"

why does everyone bring up the subject if the gems when it comes to the bad stuff from the old games >_<. WEll in TLOS, pretty much your playin so you can see more of the story, so reallly if you dont like the story, liking the game is hard.
apart from this, atleast the originals actually did give you something when you get 100% compared to ANB where there isn't EVEN a percentage count.

But seriously. Yeah, the good game ain't that great in story plot line. But running around worlds collecting stuff is pretty good stimulation of learning when you are a child. The new games are more for the older ages, and thats fine. They have beautiful art works and a story plot line. But theres just something thats missing in those games.

The feeling of accomplishing something that you really worked hard on. I've only played half way through ANB, and the game is way to simple. The first games are very simple too off course, but thats why the collecting came in handy.
And yes Ratchet, i don't like the story, so I won't enjoy the game. I have way to many games with the same gameplay and story plot. And me, who is used to Dynasty/Samurai Warriors gameplay find the new story very very boring. In fact, it sucks in my book.

But I do not mind other liking it, good for them. As Rockeh sad, you usually feels more connected to the first game you played, and with all the new Spyro fans lurking up this Forum is getting a nice crowdy population. Nice people. And who knows, maybe those who first tried LoS will buy the first Spyro games for "fan connection". I bought ANB just to try it out... a waste of money though <.< sorry y'all.

I totally agree Sleva, except i havn't played that much of Dynasty warriors (i really like Dynasty Warriors 4 though, good game). Well yeah, the new game's story is nice but i prefer the old storyline anyway. its hard to pin point what age group TLOS is for anyway.

Actually, i found Number 3 extremely difficult for a while and it was too involved with weapons...
Havn't played R&C 5 yet, hope its actually good.

Oh I only konw the demo part but it seems that Hero guy is in alot of trouble with these enemies.So then you've got to go save him.But as you try to go on a like "hover bike" you crash and have to go on foot.That's all I know for now.Tell you the rest when I get it!

See guys, that is what insomniac (creaters of Ratchet and clank and original spyro if you live in a cave) could've done with spyro if they had the graphics... and the time

Ratchet and Clank is getting better again... Third and gladiator sucked. But the new one for PS3 really is great. It takes back the elements that made the first and second so amusing. big_smile

True Ratchet. It's not fair judging TLoS by graphics. TLoS would NOT be impressing on PSone mind you.

TLOS. SOOOOOO much better. You didn't have to collect 50 impossible to get gems just to move on. It was easier in a way, but harder too. The enemies were much harder and more realistic. It wasn't one hit and poof they're gone. Also the storyline was perfect. I absolutely loved it, and the characters were amazing and had a lot of depth. You got a good background of every one without it being too obvious.

The Legend Of Spyro games are the best ^^

May i argue?
Well if you didn't realise, the only game you will find it hard to collect is Spyro 1 (because in spyro 2 and 3, you could just hold L1, L2, R1, R2), and that was a firm prototype (and you only need to do that yo get into Gnasty's Loot), besides, some people have completed spyro 1 in 2 hours and 20 mins.
ANB was toooooo easy, TEN was toooooooo hard. Once again, the enemies didn't need to be hard in the originals (mario can just jump on an enemy, hes dead [and more recently, he can punch]), and they were purposly cartoonly in the originals, for funnies. Besides, in TLOS like all of the enemies are monkeys. Storylines good, But the question is, what would TLOS look like if it was on a PS1? Characters, meh, not going into argument but i didn't find anything special about them.
If the originals were on a PS2, i bet they would be awesome awesomeness.
