Too far?
Am I the only one who thinks that making an official movie out of a video game is going a bit too far? I mean, it's a video game; can't it be left at that?
Please don't flame me for my opinion as it will get you nowhere; thank you.

Re: Too far?
If its a game, it should stick as a game. I seriously don't get it WHY Krome Studios are trying to drag HIM into the movies? I will start losing faith if he ever gets dragged into a movie-only thing.

Re: Too far?
Pokemon was an anime at around the same time it became a game, so it makes sense to have Pokemon movies.... Spyro, though... I dunno, it's just different. First they change him into this nerdy little combat thing, then they make him into a movie? Just... no.

Okay, first of all, how is combat "nerdy?" And second of all, things change, we have to accept that, because there's nothing we can do to stop it.

I dunno, I just think it is. Apparently you don't agree, and that's just fine. I just don't like it. It might have been better without the "earth breath". What the heck? O__o (I get the feeling you don't like me, Blaze the Dragon. XD)
So I'm supposed to accept it even if I don't like it? Nah, don't feel like it. =P
Shade105, could you please try to contribute more than just "I agree"? It gets a little annoying.

Re: Too far?
SHade likes to post.. that is all.
TLOS was Meant to be a movie from the start, most of people just like it for the plot.
i dont mind movies from video games, i think its cool, as long as it stays true.
Besides, they mainly do it for the cash.

Re: Too far?
I think it's fine. It would be even better if they actually stuck to the game for once.
I think it's really going to suck. Bad. I think they're going to do whatever they want with it and completely disregard the storyline entirely.

Re: Too far?
Don't get on my case for this, but I seriously think Spyro went downhill after Insomniac stopped making it and is not the kind of game that requires a movie.
EXAMPLES!
Games that don't need movies:
Spyro
Crash Bandicoot
Oddworld (mabye some animated shorts would be cool)
Pacman
Mario
Games that should be movies:
Gears of War
Halo
God of War
Bioshock
Prey
Assasin's Creed
Games that dont need ANOTHER movie:
Pokemon

*Zaps TB with a low voltage electricity stream*
Dude Mario went to the movies .. John Leguizamo and that other dude with Denis Hopper ..
I reckon Spyro should go to the movies, I mean to say that it'd be a bit more money for them to make and it'd be good for the kids that play the game, as well as the older generation that have played it to see him and the rest of his mates on the big screen.

Der der der, I know that there was "Mario" movie, but IT HAD TOTALLY NOTHING TO DO WITH MARIO! The only similarity is that Mario and his bro were in it. There were no Goombas, Koopas, or bom-ombs (or whatever they're called)

Re: Too far?
All of the games you listed that you thought were apt for movies are all shooting/fighting/warfare games. My opinion: ugh.

I listed games with really good stories that fit really well into movie format (which happen to be alot FPS's). Spyro probably does deserve a movie, considering they are making a Joust movie (twitch).

Yes there were. They just didn't look anything like they should have. Except for the Bob-omb, that was good. And in my opinion Yoshi looked better in that movie than he ever has in the games. Even if the movie its self was one of the most pathetic things I've even seen. :barf:

I agree with everything up to the list of games that should be movies. But that may have something to do with the fact I've never played any of those games. XD
Yes, Spyro went way downhill after Insomniac. Sure the story of the new games is good, but a good story doesn't automatically mean it'll be a good movie.
Besides, who are they expecting to go see it? I know I'd be embarrassed to be seen in a movie theater full of ten-year-old boys, which is probably what the main audience will end up being, kid fanboys like my neighbors I babysit who always want to play with me. -__-

Where'd you find that? If you made it up or just found it on some random site it's probably not reliable. =/
Even though it does illustrate my point quite well.

Re: Too far?
Just because it's meant for everyone doesn't mean everyone's going to go see it. Heh, I'm making sure that when I go see this in the movies, I'm not going alone.
The storyline of TLoS was great. If the movie follows that, I think it should be alright. Even with that storyline, the other factors still mess with me ... One being how gross he looks ...
