Razz, I suppose that battle were meant to increase tension before the final boss fight. I think Krome might have mistaken frustration for tension though. :-P

Anyway.... I'm unfamiliar with uploading images, but... Are you simply looking for a resized version of SamSam's image, Razz? Maybe something like this?

The image were taken from SamSam's topic, and I simpy resized it. The quality went down somewhat, but it seems pretty decent, in my opinion.... I'm not sure how big you want it to be though. :-P

I'm pretty sure Gaul is dead. ;_; In all my years playing games and watching movies, I've never seen a more definite character death. D: Turned to stone and then blown into dust? That's pretty dead. I hope his spirit comes back, though. big_smile

I guess I should have expected you to be willing to accept most pictures of Gaul, Razz. XD

I'll be surprised if Gaul doesn't at least get a mention in the third LoS game. There's a good chance that the beginning of HOD will begin with a recap of TEN.

Anyway, here's three more resized Gaul images. The images are in the spoiler tag, and all of the images were taken from SamSam's topic as well.

I also tried taking a few picture of Gaul myself, but there's some flaws on the image that I should fix. hmm

As for the kind of ape Gaul is, he appears to be a decent mix of mandrill, gorilla, and lemur. His face and general body shape is mandrill. The fur and ability to stand on his hind legs would be the gorilla part. And the flexible tail is the lemur bit.

I'm glad that you like the pictures... I should try to take more pictures of Gaul from the side and rear view in the future. Most images of Gaul seem to be showing his front perspective.

Hmm... Seeing as the plot of the " Spyro " movie will be based around the LoS series, I wonder how Gaul will look like in the film. Sure, the movie producer doesn't seem to be doing a good job of portraying Spyro so far, but it may be different for Gaul. :-P

I've got a few screens I took (with the magic of "print screen" button, YouTube, and MS Paint big_smile ). They're blurry, but they're the only screens, thus far, that I've been able to get of Gaul from behind.

Anyway, now that's over with. I'm going to resume looking at the images that Razz took. >_>

Since we seem to have a decent number of members, maybe we should start giving ourselves nicknames that are based off the apes' names. >_>

Zomg, it's Liru! I really miss seeing him around. smile

On a side note, Gaul does indeed shoot laser at Spyro to knock him off the platform if Spyro doesn't finish Gaul off completely; I got to see that for myself today. :-P

Also, I was a bit surprise that Gaul can still be defeated without resorting to the dark fury ( I used a combination of dragon time and continuous dark breath to manually deplete Gaul's last life bar), but since the cutscene afterward make Spyro uses the dark fury, defeating Gaul without the fury is the same as using the fury to defeat him. Oh, well... I guess it's too much to hope for a different ending. x_x

Hee, ape nicknames. XD I'll have to dig through the DarkSpyro name generator again to find all the ape names and see if any of them fit me. big_smile I already used my favorite name so far (Liru) for, well, Liru.

Eee, those screens are awesome! I love some of the crazy expressions he makes. And I am, frankly, impressed that he can close that one eye. big_smile

Most of you probably saw this already, but for those who didn't...surprise! "Hand of Darkness", the life story of Gaul, is now a fan comic! Here's the first two pages (Gaul hasn't shown up yet, but we do get to meet Azear (the mean little guy) and Triscle (the big, friendly dope); Gaul should be appearing in the next three pages or so).

Here's a list of ape names for the people that want to know what kind of names the apes have in the game. The names in the two lists were taken from Dark Spyro's list of enemy names, and the original darkspyro list are largely based off the ANB enemies. To make it more easy to read, I reorganized some of the names alphabetically and separate the ape names from other enemies by only listing the ape names here. In general, the apes have two parts to their name.

As for myself... I'm not sure what would be fitting for my first bit of ape nickname yet, but I find that Pantherdreamer has a very nice ring to it. Although, I wonder if the name implies that the person frequently daydreams upon encountering a ferocious panther and manage to survive somehow. XD

Hmm... Speaking of names, has anyone ever found out why Krome decides to use " Gaul " as the name of the ape king and whether or not there's a significant meaning behind that name? = /

As for Gaul's name, I think they choose it in large part because it sounds kind of nasty. big_smile It also sounds like the word "gall", which, according to Dictionary.com, means:

â€“noun
1. impudence; effrontery.
2. bile, esp. that of an animal.
3. something bitter or severe.
4. bitterness of spirit; rancor.

I'd say those are all somewhat fitting definitions. big_smile

I think it's more the later than the former; Gaul's big and scary. I'd run if he yelled at me (and then stalk him big_smile ). When I first saw him in TEN, I was very impressed with his design and his overall presence and commanding air.

Yay! I'm really pleased to hear that I can still draw good blood. It's not the easiest effect to achieve, especially when all you have is a cheap pen.
