2009: the year of video game based movies

hey, i just wanted your oppinion about this, i belive so, there are just many comming out, maybe even more then books, i mean there's gears of war the movie, Spyro the movie (yay), its said that more resident evil's are comming out, and there are still rumers going around about the Halo movie still up and running...... what do you think?

who knows, i am still hearing rumurs of it going around, but if not there are still pleanty of these types of movies cmming out....

It is offical the Halo Movie is cancelled, people spreading rumors about it are just desperate fanboys and if it is announced that it's continued I really hope they have Neil directing because from watching the live action battle trailers it looks like he knows what the game is about unlike other directors. Resident Evil was one of the only video game movies that actually stuck to the plot of the video game unlike DOOM and Bloodrayne.

The Spyro movie probably will be good but will probably be overlooked. The one thing that made me think it will flop is that they have the writers that did Garfield 2 and that movie sucked big time.

Looking at all the movies coming out based on books these days (mostly fantasy, too - spiderwick chronicles, series of unfortunate events, Harry Potter, Eragon, etc) I really wouldn't bre wurpised if this really WAS the year for videogame movies. if so, I hope Crash Bandicoot gets a look in ^^

...And the winner is actually Spyro, because this Maniac hasn't even heard of gears of war, and reckons that the Spyro movie will own all.

I honestly like game based movies, i already saw Resident Evil and Silent Hill and i love the games and movies [I'm a huge fan of horror games though.]

The classic spyro games were great, but what disappoints me about some game companies are the games that were forgotten.
Ecco the Dolphin deserves a movie, i love that series. and that was for the Genesis.

A Mario movie was made but it was real life version still pretty good. A Halo Movie, A Bioshock Movie and a Crash Bandicoot Movie would be awasome. It would be amazing if they made a Super Smash Bros Movie also.
