Sonic: Wait a minute. If Mephiles was released when the Sceptre of Darkness shattered, couldn't the same thing happen to Fire if we shatter the Sceptre again?

Sonic: Perhaps... But I think there is another way. Shadow can't seal Mephiles in the Sceptre of Darkness anymore, because Mephiles has taken on Shadow's shape. But if someone else seals him in the Sceptre of Darkness, maybe he'll stay in there!

Sonic: Mephiles the Dark. He's the conscious half of Soleanna's sun god, Solaris. He killed Shadow's brother, Fire, very recently. Mephiles was sealed in the Sceptre of Darkness 10 years ago, when Shadow travelled back in time to show Silver that Mephiles was manipulating him. Mephiles can't be sealed in the Sceptre of Darkness by Shadow anymore, because when the first Sceptre of Darkness shattered, Mephiles took on Shadow's form. Someone else might have to seal Mephiles, freeing Fire's body from it. That is, if Mephiles did trap Fire's body in the Sceptre of Darkness.

Sonic: Still, would it be possible for someone else, besides Shadow, to seal Mephiles in the Sceptre of Darkness? After all, he doesn't have anyone else's image, only Shadow.

Sonic: Yeah, but from what Star says, Mephiles was able to break free, because he'd already taken on your image and because you tried sealing him again after he took your form, that's why he escaped. But if someone else did it...
