Spyro is Spike's Son hurr durr.

You Know what I'm going to just guess that Sparx will be In-game and will be one of the few imprisoned why Kaos banishes all the other skylanders.

They don't, they recently spoke out that the older fanbase aren't their main concern and demographic.

I imagine as soon as we all play it, we'll forget about Sparx altogether. I forgot about him while playing the original games sometimes, even. And those buzzing dialogs they gave him in YotD happened, which we cries that said "please don't forget me"

LoS gave Sparx more than just a health indicator. So if you ask me, in this sense, Skylanders IS closer to the originals than it is tLoS, in terms of Sparx.

But none of this really matters. Because we're talking about, about that uh, that thing, what was it? .... Sparx! yeah, that guy...

Spyro fans will never be happy about anything. Any 'new direction' is a threat to their 'childhood'. When Insomniac stopped making games, EtD was atrocious and put a bad taste in everyone's mouth. When Universal gave it up, Spyro fans didn't like the off-beat pace AHT had. When Activision decided to make Spyro less childish and more lorish, it gained a different generation of fans, but the old fans hated it. Now that Spyro is taking another new turn, everyone, including the latest LoS generation of fans hates it. Fans demanded past characters to be in Skylanders. They put Cynder in it and everyone is mad. Spyro fans are always pisssed and they disagree with everything that involves the future of the purple dragon. It's the nature of the fandom.

Note: I exaggerate my position, I know that not everyone is like this. But most are.

I actually wish Mike Graham(?) would leave the Spyro universe alone, though it won't happen soon. I get the feeling he was the one who put Cynder in the game and ignored Sparx, because he is clueless on these kind of things.... IMO, anyway.

But yeah, Crash would have been epic in this game too!

Oh don't even think that, Rad. Mike Graham added Sparx in the LoS when he was in charge of the LoS, and did you forget that Skylanders isn't even a full Spyro game?

How in the world would Crash match up against ANY of the other characters. Crash doesn't have any talents or natural weapons. All of the Skylanders characters have abilities they use for combat. Crash doesn't have anything like that.

He added Sparx in LoS, then he dumped him at the last moment for Cynder. I'm over it, but that doesn't mean I don't remember it. The truth is, he clearly enjoys adding his own characters to these things, and I know some other Skylanders fans who agree with this.

It's only my opinion anyway - I know Skylanders isn't a full Spyro game, but I still think Sparx is more important than Cynder overall, spin off or not. But anyhow, it doesn't matter anymore I guess.

And Crash always has his Wumpa Gun - He could have been in Trigger Happy's place.

I knew you were going to say that. "every game" is soo overstated. Who cares if he's in every game. He was just an indicator in the first one. in the second one, he had special powers that were more like cheats. In YotD, all of his humming dialog was skipable. ETD, he wouldn't shut up about everything that exists in the game at the beginning. And so far through 4 games, you still can't understand what he's saying. Throughout the rest of the games, Sparx has just about as much dialog as any of the other friendlies, not to mention all of his levels stunk. And it wasn't until LoS that Spyro and Sparx actually talked to each other, and even then, it was only comic relief.

To add Sparx, 'just because out of respect' sounds sorry. Sparx is a secondary character. He didn't do anything that deserves a memorial. So why the Sparx pity party?

Besides, I've said this a million times...

If Sparx appeared in the first level of Skylanders and no where else, no one would ever give it a second thought. He's practically the background.

And I suppose gems were in every game too. Are we gonna have a hissy fit if no gems are found in Skylanders?

Sparx doesn't HAVE to be in the game. I would just like it. Sparx is one of my favorite characters.

Although I could make a better arguement that Hunter would fit well in this game. He at least lends better to being a toy than Sparx.

I guess that's what I don't understand. Hunter, sure, he's great. Even Bianca could have a place. Personally, I would have loved Shiela to reappear. She's the best. But the fact that people place Sparx before all of the colorful characters there have been before baffles me. And I haven't seen any gems. I have seen a coin with a gem on it.

In Rayman, I never thought Globox to be really important to the story. In the (awful) spin-off Ravin' Rabbids, the only recognisable character in the series was Rayman himself.
Since Rayman is in his own series, his beloved friend is back and I couldn't be happier.

And Sparx is there to follow Spyro and help him solve puzzles - more apparent in AHT than in the Insomniac Trilogy and ETD. He's not just there for a health indicator but for companionship. It's that sense of that dragonfly following our beloved dragon which makes the nostalgic experience complete, even if the art and universe is completely different.

As this is a spin-off though, you can't expect that many characters to come back. Cynder's return was a huge surprise :omg:

Exactly, Skylanders is a SPIN-OFF; you can't expect many old characters to return in a spin-off, yet some fans still don't get that.
