Re: Skylanders post-release poll
I know they're unreliable as hell. Which is why you're both disregarding the review. But I do wonder what the reaction would have been for a negative review.

Re: Skylanders post-release poll
I come on this forum sometimes but I post rarely unless I really have something to say. So, here it is.
Yes, all game series have changed. So what? I dislike Angry Birds for the fact that it never changes and you have to do the same *bleep* thing in every level around 10,000 times.
TES Skyrim has changed so much what I loved about the previous games, some good and some bad. TES Morrowind is the BEST game in the series but I still give the newer games a chance. I know that I can come back to TES Morrowind if I feel nostalgiac.
The absolutely same goes for Spyro and Crash. I am getting Skylanders next summer when I will have time to play games every day. I do not expect it to beat the originals in any way. The Classic Spyro will always be the best, no matter what. But as long as Skylanders has Spyro (and Sparx, which is unlocked in an adventure pack), it is a Spyro game.
I'm a secret duck who lives in the glitchy but nice Honey Marshes. My day to day job is to spy on the blue guys so they won't get up to much mischief.

Re: Skylanders post-release poll
I wasn't exactly against the gameplay aspect of it but the toys acting as keys to what might already be on the disc... I don't know. Still, I'm actually shocked at the ratings that I would expect to be rather average in general for a hack-and-slash. Then again, people don't seem to notice it so I can just yap all day and they'll just keep on going.
I'm curious... can you beat the game aka the final boss with just the starter pack?
Edit: I forgot to read that IGN review... so it's like those free-to-play with microtransaction models, huh?
I don't care how it looks but how it functions

Re: Skylanders post-release poll
You can beat the whole game with just any one of the Starter Pack Skylanders.

Re: Skylanders post-release poll
Although i do think activision (dammiy activision) is using this as a clever way to make more money off one game, i can't help but love it, the characters, the abilities, the thrill of putting a new character on the portal, oo. Even if you can't buy the 5 more to open all gates anytime soon, id highely recommend it. Even though it's hard to call it a "spyro" game because it has almost nothing to do directly with him. Still, lots of fun

Re: Skylanders post-release poll
Perhaps you don't have the money to waist? (not saying i do). And i think its fun, because the kid in me comes out when i play spyro because im such a *bleep* for him i pose.
