Perfect, want a position in QA? That means you can do the testing after we start getting stuff working.
And BB, I'm not really creative in that way. Probably wouldn't be a good idea to have me write, but I will be proofreading everyone else's scripts.

Javascript! Yay! I've learned a bit of the basics of Javascript! ...But all positions are taken... *Weep* I should find some Javascript program thingy so I can try making my own games. But I do know a lot of BASIC.
I'm Sear & Burst the twins. Sear, red dragon blue snout & wing flaps. Burst, blue dragon red snout & wing flaps.
I'm leaving for now. I'm *bleep*ed off at Stormy. I need my time anyway, and I'm getting no enjoyment out of this forum, which is what a forum like this was partly made for. For people to be happy. I am not happy.

Yeah I can do that. Although I'm gonna be a bit busy during the autumn but I think I can find some time to do that

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
I think I've made the beginnings of a potential base for the game...
At least, I've put together a keyboard.js that makes adding keyboard functionality easier, and a graphics.js that I plan to add more functions to. At the moment it has a function to load a sprite object from an image strip and a function to easily draw this sprite object with basic transformations(position, scale and rotation).
To demonstrate them, I made a sample/test game with a very basic game loop, featuring an interactive, retarded-looking Spyro

It's nice I hope I'll join as soon as possible. Tomorrow I have exam from law and day after that exam from electrotechnics and then I have finally some free time ^.^
And what about code sharing? Should we use any CVS?

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
Good luck with those exams
I don't really have any experience with code sharing. Or CVS - I had to google that.
Would github be suitable for our purpose? (I don't have any experience with it either, but I see it used a lot ^^)

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
On the off-chance you need another artist, I'd love to help. I have a lot of experience making 2D animation sprites should the project go with 2D
Otherwise, I wouldn't mind trying my hand at writing.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
sound effects came up when i talked to Gekoncze the other day; you could sign me up for that if that'd be necessary (i assume it would?)
one time my church was doing an activity with the kids that required sound effects (stormy ones - get it?) and the CD with my arrangements on it was apparently good enough that they offered to buy it from me. i don't have any proof that this happened though. my keyboard has tons of different sound options including samples, and honestly, i could probably just make any other sounds with my voice (an odd little talent i have) or with stuff around the house. making sound samples isn't that hard.
if you're going to have voice actors (as opposed to the beeplebibbyleeleeolee from Attack of the Rhynocs) i could try that, too. i can do a lot of different voices.
oh yeah, and i can do additional stuff to any audio if needed; change the pitch, add echo/delay/reverb, play around with the mixing, etc etc etc.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
Completely forgot about the sound effects! That would be great if you could do that. We probably won't do much, if any, voice acting, but if we do, I'll keep that in mind.
I think I'll close the signups at the end of the week, so if no one signs up for composing by then I'll put you on for that too.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
We're not using a game engine; like I've said, it's a browser-based sidescrolling game.
Unreal Engine actually ports to HTML5 (at least with UE3; I'm not sure about UE4).
Try searching for Epic Citadel.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
We're still not using an engine. My point is that it's too simple of a game to need one. It's not necessary.
Oh, and looks like I forgot to address this earlier - yes, we should definitely use some kind of version control to keep this organized. Unless anyone is opposed, I'll set up the repository on Github.

I'm not going to be writing, lol. Just an idea Breaking Bad had.
You're still getting a chance, but again, your grammar is going to have to improve from what I've seen in your posts. You and RadSpyro will be working together.

I've used both Subversion and Git. Github would probably be best since they have both a web interface and a desktop client, plus you don't need to pay to use it.
Anyway! I feel I am fairly skilled/experienced in the development side of things, but since I don't quite have the time to join as a programmer and there aren't positions open for it anyway, may I join the QA team as a code reviewer? I'm pretty good with most code standards and like seeing readable code, so I can ensure that is achieved.

Of course! For everyone else who might want to do QA, don't worry about the positions being filled up; we can never have too many people looking for problems.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
I could do music, I have a totally 100% legal not pirated copy of FL studio 11, and I do know a bit about how to use it, and how to make Spyro sounding tracks, as I might have said before, although I've never really shared any of it. I've never felt confident enough in it to share it, although I probably could make something I'd feel like sharing. I also love voice acting, if I'm given a part that fits me well.
Edit: In July, I'm taking a summer Game Design class for a week, and I'm sure I can be much more useful then.

no, what we do is, we pull an Insomniac and put in intentional problems*, like, have some nonsensical glitch, like a box making you proxy jump up to a conveniently solid out-of-reach roof that when you fall through the hole you end up right near an area with an extra life butterfly that was "cut out".
* i am still convinced that things like this were left in on purpose.
