Do you have Favourite Video Game Characters If so why?

We all have played as great video game characters that we've all grown up with. Are there ones that are you're favourites? Be it that they make the story memorable or for whatever reason what are your're's?

1. Mario (Grew up with Mario and the Super Mario series, still has a huge place in my heart, he'll always be my number #1 character!)

2. Spyro (Yeah had too see this coming, the firstly, purple dragon that made us fans of the series,  besides the charm and gameplay of course. He's a good boy.)

3. Link (Don 't know much about the series but he's a rad cool character setting out on grand adventures to stop that evil Ganon, and rescue Princess Zelda got to respect that.)

4. Bowser (The strong infatuated antagonist that hates Mario and loves Peach, got to admire his persistence his character is simple but evil and my #1 villian.)

5. King K. Rool (#2 favourite villain Hater of Kong's, and lover of bananas he's had many alter egos and his clumsy but unhinged nature is great, happy he's in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.)

Those are just a couple of mine know this won't get a lot of replies does not matter feel free to post if you want.

I mention this series all the time on this forum, but the Tales of series has some of my favorite characters ever. I could write essays about all the Tales of Symphonia characters and all the ways they play off of each other and develop over the course of the story, but no one's going to read all that, so I'll just say I love them all. tongue

Can vouch for this as I've seen it myself, me and some friends. Played it long ago together and enjoyed it lots. There is development Lloyd, being a a good-hearted and caring person, Zelos being cocky, and a ladies man. But being there for his friends. And so forth.

Intro of the game for anyone interested.

It was a beautiful game.

Re: Do you have Favourite Video Game Characters If so why?

Thinking about this, I realise that there's a lot less memorable characters lately in the games I play. My favourites really just come up from games years ago. Perhaps that's because most games I play have tonnes of characters or character creation, so most of them don't really stick for that long, or maybe it's just nostalgia getting in the way.
I'll hop aboard the "top 5" trolley and see what comes up, sticking to 1 per franchise.

1. Spyro (OG/Reignited Trilogy)
No surprises here. Our favourite little purple dragon is and will always be my favourite character in any medium, really. I'm very happy to say that the update to his looks that Reignited brought definitely deserves to be up here too. Spyro's the one true original reason for my affinity for dragons, determination, and hoarding shiny stuff. No, seriously, give me your shinies. They were never yours, anyway.

2. Dr. N. Gin (Crash Bandicoot OG Trilogy)
Honestly a very close fight between N.Gin and N.Tropy, I've always loved their crazy characters and their boss fights were always very awesome and memorable to me, but I feel like just the mentally deranged, crazy and voice-warped attitude N.Gin brings makes him the better character to me. Also, he's got a freaking rocket stuck in his head. What's not to love about that?

3. Sir Daniel Fortesque (Medievil)
Dan has always been a character that was very memorable to me and is one of my favourite characters to date. His lore, his attitude, and his clumsy appearance are just so dumb and well thought-out, he makes for a hilarious and unforgettable character from a great couple of classic PS1 games. Strangely and weirdly enough, the way Medievil shows you your item pickups (basically just rotating their 3D models in front of the camera) has always stood with me as a really iconic game mechanic too.

4. Heavy Weapons Guy (Team Fortress 2)
I've never been too much into any sort of Multiplayer FPS, but Team Fortress' characters really made me make an exception. His humour, his silly Russian patriotism, and his massive craving for sandviches have made him pretty much a staple favourite character in any game I've ever played. This is also due to the trailers and fan-made GMod videos made with him in it which stupidity still today manages to make me smile every single time. He's in here for sheer comical value, but it's a huge value nonetheless.

5. Axel (Kingdom Hearts series)
So I have been quite an obvious Axel fan in the past, and while my appreciation for him has deteriorated over the years I definitely would still put him in my top 5. Kingdom Hearts (provided that you are capable of following the story, which is a challenge of its own) has a ton of interesting characters, most of my favourites residing in Organization XIII. The only real reason I can honestly say I prefer Axel over other Organization members is the depth of his lore. If only Xaldin had some deeper lore, I'd probably pick him instead. Throughout KH: Chain of Memories, KH2 and KH358/2 days, the games really focus on building up an emotional relationship between Roxas and Axel (and Xion to a degree), to the point where I genuinely start to feel sorry for Axel and understand his motives towards Sora throughout the entirety of KH2. It's one of the most painful and deep conflicts going on in the game, going beyond the destruction of worlds, and so Axel's character really made an impact on me and stayed with me for that reason.

Honestly, there's a lot of other characters I like, but most not quite as impactful as these. Heck, none of any entries even come close to Spyro to be honest. Our little purple boy just towers way above any others for me.
Some honourable mentions, though, would include Cpt. Quark (Ratchet & Clank), Waluigi (Mario), Adam Jensen (Deus Ex series), Abe (Oddworld series), Papyrus (Undertale), Sander Cohen (Bioshock), Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), and I'm probably forgetting a lot...

Re: Do you have Favourite Video Game Characters If so why?

Indeed Waluigi is something else no doubt. Devoted fans of that one hope he gets into Super Smash Bros. one day.

Anyway a character from a game I've seen recently is Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2, violent, cold, and brooding. He does what he has to do to make sure the Dutch van der Linde gang survives in the times of the wild west. He knows his actions are wrong but views them as Necessary for the gang and his own benefit. He develops into something else later in the game though I won't spoil why. He's a favourite character that I'll remember always for his nature and the fact he's a badass cowboy that did what he had to for those he cared for most and even those he helped inadvertently.

Anyway we all got favourite's thanks for sharing yours and post more if you so please.
